KENT, WA, August 06, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly K. Arrington has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Arrington has earned a distinct reputation in the field of social services for more than thirty years. She has had the privilege to support individuals with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, including Autism, as well as individuals who have been unhoused. Her distinguished career is defined by a commitment to improving the lives of those she serves. Most recently, she has held the position of vice president of site operations at Plymouth Housing, which she assumed in 2025. In her leadership capacity, Ms. Arrington is the architect for service delivery in 15 buildings for more than 1400 formerly unhoused residents. Ms. Arrington has led more than half of the staff at the agency. These teams work diligently to deploy essential services to formerly unhoused individuals. The agency has nearly doubled in size during Ms. Arrington's tenure, resulting in the need to serve in numerous capacities.
Ms. Arrington previously served as the vice president of supportive housing and chief supportive housing officer at Plymouth Housing for four years.
Ms. Arrington's broad background includes a series of positions with the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for Persons with Developmental Disabilities Inc. (SCLARC) between 1998 and 2021. This organization serves more than 20,000 children and adults. Her tenure as chief of case management ran from 2017 to 2021. Ms. Arrington was instrumental in providing excellent individualized person centered services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and from 2001 through 2021, Ms. Arrington also served as a program coordinator at Goodwill Southern California from 1995 to 1998, working with developmentally disabled individuals who were suffering from conditions related to substance abuse. She has also worked as a behavior specialist at People Inc.
The pursuit of academic excellence prompted Ms. Arrington to enroll at the University at Buffalo and earn a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She subsequently completed a Master of Education in organization, administration and policy, and in her master's coursework, she focused on human relations skills, which helped advance her dispute resolution acumen. She also attended the University of Delaware Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities in 2019.
Ms. Arrington is a published author and continues to write and perform original poetry for various community events. In addition to being an accomplished poet, Ms. Arrington is a composer (lyrics and melodies) and has produced and released two albums on iTunes in 2012 and 2021. She was a finalist in the International World Poetry Slam in San Diego in 2019.
Ms. Arrington actively seeks opportunities for civic engagement. She served as the poetry editor of Unity Magazine while a student at the University of Buffalo, and she is a tither/donor to organizations such as her church, the Urban League and Path With Art, Ujima Company and Plymouth Housing. Ms. Arrington is also the alumni coordinator and an associate member of Ujima Company, Inc., A Theater Ensemble.
Since her youth, Ms. Arrington has received various accolades such as the Best Tutoring Counselor Award, Black Educators Award for Poetry, NAACP Act-So Awards for Art and Poetry, Performances with the Just Buffalo Literary Society and others. She acknowledges her parents' positive influence, who helped her recognize the value of continuous education, service to others and perseverance. To achieve balance, she enjoys spending quality time with her three children and supporting them in their many activities. Looking toward the future, Ms. Arrington plans to publish more poetry compilations and works of fiction and non-fiction, including some autobiographical work which intersects with political events of the same period.
Currently, Ms. Arrington is working on a project that assists the formerly homeless in processing their trauma through artistic expression.
Ms. Arrington has been a grateful Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. member since the spring of 1987 and served as chaplain before her departure from Buffalo, New York.
