Before her current position, Ms. Bustamante served as a corporate programs project manager from 2006 to 2020, where she refined her skills in project management and internal communications. Previously, she served as an enterprise IT purchasing specialist from 2003 to 2005, during which time she developed expertise in procurement processes. Her career at Verisign began in 2000 as a data center operations facility specialist, where she was responsible for creating network cables and providing Tier 3 support for prepaid phone services. This foundational experience enabled her to transition into project management roles successfully.

Ms. Bustamante's professional journey is complemented by her academic achievements. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in theater from Southern Methodist University, which she completed in 1999, and a Bachelor of Arts in speech and drama from Our Lady of the Lake University, earned in 1986. Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Rice University, she aims to enhance her management skills and expand her professional network. Her commitment to continuous learning is further demonstrated by her project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute, which she has maintained since 2011.

Ms. Bustamante's dedication extends beyond her professional life into civic engagements and creative endeavors. She has been actively involved with the Nepal America International Film Festival as a festival adviser and jury member from 2019 to 2024 and served as the screening director and award presenter at the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival from 2018 to 2024. As president and advisory committee liaison for Women in Film & Video from 2015 to 2018, she played a significant role in promoting women's contributions to the film industry. Previously, she served on the board of directors as Executive Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Marketing Chair.

Ms. Bustamante's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including multiple STAR Program: Above and Beyond Awards and nominations for the Made in SA Award by the Greater San Antonio Film Association. In 2015, she accepted the Mayor's Arts Award for Excellence in Service to the Arts for WIFV by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Bustamante is passionate about giving back through various initiatives and projects such as the WIFTI Summit and CFNPS: YouTube Marketing.
