In his earlier efforts at career advancement, Dr. Patel accepted an optometry externship with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Massachusetts and Long Beach, California from 2018 to 2019, followed by another specialized externship at Omni Eye Services in New York in 2019.

Dr. Patel was also an established presence in his field in the United Kingdom and excelled as a college facilitator at the College of Optometrists in London from 2016 to 2017 while concurrently acting as a diabetic eye screening service screener and grader with Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust from 2011 to 2016. Notably, in 2011, Dr. Patel became one of the youngest named ophthalmic directors at Specsavers, after having thrived as a Senior Optometrist between 2010 and 2011 and as a dispensing optician from 2005 through 2009.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Patel remains actively engaged in prestigious organizations. He serves as a trustee member of the New York State Optometric Association and is president of its local division in Suffolk County. Dr. Patel's commitment extends internationally as he is a member of the College of Optometrists where he also served as a facilitator in the United Kingdom and a member of the leadership committee of the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Patel cites his progression to a management position in a national organization after moving to the United States as his most notable achievement. He acknowledges the positive influence of key mentors including Dr. Scott Allison, with whom he shares a similar focus centered on caring for others, and Dr. Patel humbly recognizes the support and guidance of Steve Emmingham, who was his manager during his tenure at Specsavers.

After identifying an enduring curiosity and passion for biology and physics, Dr. Patel pursued training in optometry; subsequently, he earned exceptional academic credentials that forged a solid foundation for his advancement. He holds a Bachelor of Optometry from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, United Kingdom, which he completed in 2008, and a Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry, obtained in 2019. To enhance his ability to serve patients, Dr. Patel also secured certifications including ILM from The Institute of Leadership, and Glaucoma Levels 1 and 2 from WOPEC between 2016 and 2017.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Patel is dedicated to civic engagement through volunteer work with organizations such as the State University of New York's mentorship program and Cancer Research UK. Dr. Patel was also proud to contribute to scholarly literature by contributing to studies and literature on visual stress books published by Professor Arnold Wilkins.
