Dr. Lo attributes much of his success to the mentorship and support he received from his teachers throughout his academic career, as well as his tenacity and integrity.

Beyond academia, Dr. Lo serves as the music director at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Long Beach, California, a position he has held since 2019, following his tenure as staff pianist from 2011 to 2019. His involvement with Los Angeles Leather Pride highlights his commitment to diverse musical expressions and community engagement. Notably, Dr. Lo organizes a concert during Los Angeles Leather Pride week, where he plays multiple roles, including organizing, conducting and performing.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Lo enjoys playing the euphonium with the Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles's marching band. His personal interests include enjoying music, weightlifting, shopping, baking and maintaining proficiency in Mandarin and French.
