Her earlier roles at the organization included director of government relations for the eastern United States from 2015 to 2018 and director of policy advocacy and research from 2014 to 2015. Ms. Hooper initiated her tenure with Project Lead The Way as director of school engagement for the east region from 2012 to 2014.
Ms. Hooper's foundational professional experiences forged a solid foundation for her advancement. She thrived as the assistant director of development at USF St. Petersburg from 2008 to 2011 and as the vice president of leadership development at the Greater Naples Chamber from 2006 to 2008. Ms. Hooper also relies on key expertise earned through her role as a legislative aide for the Florida House of Representatives from 2003 to 2006 and a successful internship with the administrative services division of Collier County Government from 2001 to 2002, and she counts her challenging work on computer science legislation as one of her most rewarding accomplishments.
Ms. Hooper is passionate about advancing higher education and holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which she completed in 2002. She subsequently earned a master's degree in international business and policy from Georgetown University in 2018. Ms. Hooper's expertise is further recognized through her leadership in Iota Gamma Upsilon, a fraternal organization that reflects her commitment to academic excellence and community collaboration for the greater good.
A range of industry credentials is further evidence of Ms. Hooper's dedication to excellence. She holds crisis communications and strategic communication certificates from the Public Relations Society of America, obtained in 2025 and 2024, respectively, as well as a modern management tools certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, which she secured in 2023. Beyond these key professional achievements, she remains enthusiastic about civic engagement and is a founding board member of Bridge Across Borders Inc., a board member for organizations that include Feather Sound Community Services District and Treasure Island and Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Hooper was honored to serve as a board member for Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County and mentor at PACE Center for Girls.
Ms. Hooper is proud to have contributed to the scholarly conversation by co-authoring "Affordable Housing Coalition Finds Solutions," an article published in Business Currents in 2006, and her long-term objectives include the publication of a book focused on women's professional development.
