ANDERSON, SC, August 14, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Keisha R. Bentley, DHA, MSBT, M.Ed., CRCC, LSSYB, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Bentley is a distinguished professional with nearly 20 years of experience spanning both education and health care, demonstrating a remarkable ability to bridge both fields through her wealth of expertise. Since 2023, she has been employed as a STEM education specialist with South Carolina's Coalition for Mathematics and Science, which is housed within Clemson University's College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. In this capacity, she is responsible for providing professional development to educators and administrators across South Carolina. Her role also encompasses community outreach and coaching support, underscoring her commitment to enhancing educational standards through various avenues.

Prior to reaching her current position, Dr. Bentley served for nearly 15 years as a classroom teacher in both South Carolina and New York. She began her teaching career in 2008 at her alma mater, T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, SC, where she taught honors and college preparatory biology and served as the coordinator of the Miss and Mr. T. L. Hanna Pageants and Pageant Club. During this time, she also served as a SAFE-T educator evaluator and team lead and completed the Anderson School District Five Assistant Principal's Academy. In 2017, two years after relocating to New York, she became Advanced Placement certified in Biology and Psychology. She went on to teach at a Yeshiva and public school, both on Long Island, before moving back to South Carolina in 2019. Upon her return to Anderson, she served as departmental chair and taught PLTW Biomedical Sciences at a career and technical education school. In 2021, she accepted the role of seventh grade science teacher and departmental chair. In 2023, she transitioned into her current role as STEM Education Specialist.

Dr. Bentley's experience in healthcare began as early as her volunteer service in the emergency department at AnMed. She later went on to work as a nursing assistant at AnMed after completing her undergraduate degree. Shortly thereafter she began teaching and did not re-enter the medical field until she moved to New York. She worked as a medical assistant at Garden City Dermatology, where she delivered specialized laser treatments, suture removals, and patch tests. She also served as a patient care liaison, assisting with prior authorizations and nursing calls. Additional duties included training newly hired medical assistants and developing standard operating procedures for patch testing, suture removals, and the use of the lasers. She remained at the dermatology office until she accepted her first teaching position in New York.

Dr. Bentley's academic journey is equally robust, having earned a Doctor of Health Administration from Morehouse School of Medicine in 2025. The foundation of her education began at Erskine College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2006. After she began her career in education, she earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University in 2013. In 2020, she completed the Morehouse School of Medicine Bridges to Biotechnology and Bioentrepreneurship pipeline program. Following this summer program, she earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology in 2021 from the same institution.

To augment her educational knowledge and professional qualifications, Dr. Bentley earned the South Carolina State Professional Teaching and Administrator Certifications in 2009 and 2013, respectively. She earned the New York State Professional Teaching Certification in 2018. She has earned endorsements for Gifted and Talented and Read to Succeed. She also earned a certificate in Clinical Research Coordination from Morehouse School of Medicine and became certified in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and Human Research by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program, all in 2025. Her commitment to continuous learning is evident through her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from Advanced Innovation Group Pro Excellence in 2024 and various other certifications related to education and health care.

Dr. Bentley's contributions extend to her involvement in civic organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 2010, where she volunteered and served as chapter recording secretary from 2017 to 2019. She helped to expose students in her community to STEM opportunities through her involvement as a Riley Fellow in the Furman University DLI Program. Dr. Bentley is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, National Association of Health Services Executives, Association of University Programs in Health Administration, and Pi Lambda Theta Educator Honor Society. Her volunteer work as a certified South Carolina pageant judge, youth etiquette instructor, and service in her church further highlights her leadership qualities and longstanding dedication to community service.

Also known for her influential creative works, Dr. Bentley has contributed to several publications covering such topics as improving diversity in the biotechnology and health informatics industries as well as enhancing health and patient outcomes for minority communities. These works, published on various platforms such as Nature Biotechnology, Frontiers, and LinkedIn, reflect her commitment to addressing health disparities and promoting diversity for the benefit of others. Her contributions have been recognized with accolades from Morehouse School of Medicine including the Graduate Education in Public Health Academic Excellence Award (2025), Top 10 Under 40 recipient (2022), Graduate Education in Biomedical Sciences MSBT Academic and Outstanding Achievement Awards (2021), and Student Spotlight (2021). She served as the moderator of the student panel for the Course Hero Virtual Educator Summit in 2021. Furthermore, she was previously featured in Who's Who Among American High School Students, showcasing her reputation for excellence from a young age.

In her personal life, Dr. Bentley enjoys attending church, reading, spending time with her family and friends, traveling and singing. Looking ahead, she aims to address critical issues such as high maternal mortality rates among minority women in the southern United States and improve health literacy in rural communities. Her vision is to find a role that effectively combines her extensive experience in education with her passion for health care, furthering her significant impact on public health outcomes and making a lasting impact through all she does.
