Dr. Lewis has dedicated his career to fostering inclusive and supportive educational environments, drawing from a rich tapestry of experiences in both the financial sector and education. Currently serving as the leader of school community engagement in Bexley, Ohio, he has been instrumental in encouraging staff and student participation in various activities and processes since 2023. Dr. Lewis's expertise lies in creating learning environments where students feel comfortable being themselves and are accepting of one another, a testament to his commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Before his current role, Dr. Lewis served as the leader of diversity, equity and inclusion for the school system from 2023 to 2025. In this capacity, he worked diligently to implement policies that promoted equity across the district. Before Bexley Ohio, he was affiliated with the Olentangy Local School District between 2015 and 2023, initially as a business teacher and later as the supervisor of equity and inclusion. Earlier, Dr. Lewis taught business at Upper Arlington City Schools from 2012 to 2015, following his entry into the field as a substitute teacher with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio in Columbus in 2010 while also serving as president of the Ohio Business Educators Association from 2012 to 2014.

Dr. Lewis's transition into education followed a successful two-decade career in the financial industry. Notably, he held positions such as vice president and senior risk operations manager at JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, Ohio, from 2006 to 2008, where he made significant strides in reducing fraud and protecting customer risk exposure. His earlier roles at Wells Fargo & Company in Portland, Oregon, between 1995 and 2006 included assistant vice president and operations manager, vice president and operations site manager, and vice president and operations business relationship manager.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Lewis is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served for five years. His military experience has undoubtedly contributed to his leadership skills and dedication to service. His academic background included a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in business from Morehouse College, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Ashland University. These academic achievements have equipped Dr. Lewis with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in both his financial and educational careers.

Dr. Lewis is an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the National Association for Multicultural Education, and previously served as the treasurer for the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Columbus.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lewis has been recognized for his contributions, including being featured in Who's Who in Black Columbus. He attributes much of his success to having a supportive team that believes in his work, including an excellent superintendent and board of education, as well as a supportive community.

Looking ahead, Dr. Lewis aims to develop the school community so that incidents of racism or homophobia are eradicated and students thrive due to a strong sense of belonging. His dedication to restorative practices underscores his belief that behavior does not define one's worth.
