Leading his own company, Sierra Translation Services, as its owner and founder since 2020, Mr. Tuggy specializes in providing editing, publishing, and English and Spanish book translation services to his clients. Having established his company over 25 years ago, he has since resumed his responsibilities and envisions continued expansion in providing his varied services. He is also leading his company, Sunny Breeze Press, for publishing his own works.
During his writing career, Mr. Tuggy served as an editor, translator and editing department manager for Editorial Renuevo from 2012 to 2022. Since 2021, he has completed translation projects for a Christian publishing house in Pennsylvania, from Editorial Renuevo, and an editing project for a self-published friend.
Mr. Tuggy's most notable achievement was helping to translate and produce the Gospel of Mark for the Pemon Tribe in the 1990s when he was a missionary in Venezuela. He also successfully contributed two versions of over 100 bilingual book projects in English and Spanish while serving at Editorial Renuevo.
Apart from his entrepreneurship, Mr. Tuggy is an experienced database architect and application developer for various business applications, having served as the owner and database programmer for Database Architect Ed Tuggy between 1999 and 2011. Mr. Tuggy also served as a missionary Bible translator sent by Maranatha Bible Church to Venezuela from 1982 to 1996, as a project manager for Message for Life from 1996 to 2001, and as the general manager at Faithfulness in the Family between 2001 and 2011.
Mr. Tuggy was instrumental in helping translate and produce the Gospel of Mark for the Pemon Tribe during the 1990s while serving as a missionary in Venezuela. In addition to his missionary work, Mr. Tuggy also worked with Bosnian refugees in 2022.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Mr. Tuggy graduated from The Orinoco Academy in 1971. He subsequently studied at Westmont College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, religious studies, history, and languages in 1975, and at the University of Texas at Arlington with a master's degree in linguistics in 1980. Moreover, Mr. Tuggy received Bible certification through Multnomah University in 1978.
Honoring his civic initiatives, Mr. Tuggy was recognized with a Sergeant at Arms Appreciation Award from Toastmasters International. He attributes his civic and professional accomplishments to his upbringing and education.
