Mr. Patterson's responsibilities also include responding promptly to inquiries, collaborating with agents to clarify products, training new employees on software and processes, and staying abreast of industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance, among other tasks.

Mr. Patterson began his insurance career at IAT in 2023 as an underwriter trainee, where he gained foundational experience in risk assessment, client relations, and the complexities of commercial trucking insurance. In 2024, he advanced to the role of associate underwriter, taking on the responsibility for a book of business. In this position, he applies his work ethic, adaptability, and decision-making skills to support customers and contribute to the team's success. Before entering the insurance sector, Mr. Patterson built a successful career in the pest control industry. He was affiliated with Innovative Pest Solutions as a pest specialist from 2021 to 2023. Previously, he worked for Triangle Pest Control, serving as both a branch manager and a technician between 2017 and 2021. His role as a branch manager marked a significant period of professional growth. During this time, Mr. Patterson doubled production at the company's largest branch by fostering strong relationships with his team and implementing effective business practices that prioritized both customer satisfaction and employee well-being. He credits much of this success to empowering his team members and creating an environment conducive to collective achievement.

Earlier, Mr. Patterson excelled in lawn care with Trugreen from 2016 to 2017. His professional journey began shortly before that as a crew member at Trader Joe's in 2014, where he developed essential interpersonal skills and a commitment to service excellence that would serve as a foundation for his future roles.

Mr. Patterson's academic background includes coursework in communication and media studies at North Carolina State University in Raleigh in 2012, followed by a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Shaw University in Raleigh in 2023.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Patterson has been civically engaged as a board member of the Raleigh-Durham development chapter of the National African American Insurance Association since 2025. Through this role, he contributes to advancing diversity and inclusion within the insurance industry while supporting professional development initiatives for emerging leaders.

In light of his hard work, Mr. Patterson received a Customer Service Award from Triangle Pest Control in 2018. He also received the IAT Silver Spot Award in 2024 and 2025.
