MOUNTAIN HOUSE, CA, August 28, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kai A. Moche-Prunty, PHR, aPHR, M.S. HRM (GTM), B.S., CS/ISM's (she/her/hers), has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who, as in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process. Kai is a respected Restorative Leadership Designer, HR operations strategist, neurodiversity advocate, and higher education leader.

A Voice Reclaimed, A Legacy Rising
Born in Washington, D.C., and a first-generation college graduate, Kai has spent more than 15 years designing equitable systems in higher education and HR. She has served at institutions including Johns Hopkins University, Northern Virginia Community College, Mills College at Northeastern University, Trinity University, and Southeastern University. Her efforts clear pathways through systemic barriers, modernize registrar operations, and advocate for underserved communities through inclusive academic policy reform.

Her mission is profoundly personal and rooted in lived experience. As the mother of a child with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, Kai understands firsthand the power of psychological safety, access, and belonging. This lived experience fuels her drive to create environments where every individual—regardless of ability, identity, or background—can thrive.

Global Heart, Local Impact
Kai's perspective is also shaped by her international experience in South Africa, where she guided and mentored high school students preparing for their matric exams. Immersed in the nation's cultural richness, she embraced the transformative power of communal leadership and resilience.

"Living and volunteering in South Africa taught me the strength of cultural humility and the richness of communal leadership," Kai reflects. "It deepened my mission to build systems that don't just serve—but uplift."

Champion of Equity and Psychological Safety
Currently, Moche-Prunty serves as an HR Advisor with CrowdDoing's Relational Capital Initiative, where she streamlines onboarding processes, champions recognition programs, and advocates for mental wellness initiatives for volunteers worldwide. Her contributions accelerated onboarding from two weeks to three to five days, while creating systems that fostered psychological safety and a sense of belonging.

A cornerstone of this work is "Thrive Together: A Volunteer Wellbeing Micro-Series"—an initiative conceptualized, designed, and facilitated by Kai and her team. This global, multi-generational initiative provides volunteers with practical tools for reducing isolation, managing stress, and fostering a sense of belonging in remote environments. By blending storytelling, experiential exercises, and inclusive design, Kai is transforming volunteer engagement into a well-being-centered experience.

Higher Education Leadership & Compliance
Over the past two years, Moche-Prunty served as an Associate Registrar for Academic Systems and Transfer Credit at Northeastern University, where she maintained the integrity of academic records, championed transfer credit processes, and supported students in their global educational journeys through efficient system administration.

Previously, she held the same role at Mills College, Oakland, CA (2021–2022), where she modernized educational processes, reviewed and approved college-wide semester courses, and collaborated with the interim registrar during the historic merger with Northeastern University in Boston.

At Mills, Kai also managed federal compliance for students receiving financial aid under Title IV of the Higher Education Act. She served as the institutional point of contact for enrollment and degree verification, submitted official reports to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), and rigorously audited monthly compliance reports to identify and correct discrepancies. Her work ensured both institutional accountability and students' continued eligibility for financial aid.

Between 2020 and 2021, she served as Senior Assistant Registrar at Mills College, overseeing complex semester course workflows, resolving system mapping errors, and supporting institutional compliance. Her career in higher education administration began at Northern Virginia Community College (2011–2020), where she built foundational skills in student services, records management, degree auditing, graduation clearance, and process improvement.

Reflecting on her career, Kai attributes her success to resilience and an unyielding belief that "no does not mean never." Daily affirmations—especially the phrase "I am"—have shaped both her identity and her approach to overcoming obstacles. She now seeks to impart this philosophy to women she mentors, encouraging them to redefine themselves at any age and pursue their goals without waiting for external approval.

Across every role, Kai has championed dignity, respect, and psychological safety, ensuring that systems honor the humanity behind every record, staff, and student.

Author, Advocate, Trailblazer
Kai's influence extends beyond administrative roles into authorship and mentorship. She is the forthcoming author of Unapologetically Visible: From Silence to Strength, a bold and sensory-rich manuscript that serves as a love letter to women who have felt invisible despite their contributions. Through rich storytelling, global case studies, and original reflections, the book addresses healing across generations, workplace safety, fairness, and reclaiming one's voice after trauma.

Written as a rallying cry for Black and Brown women, neurodivergent professionals, and others whose voices have too often been overlooked in systems not built for them, the book reframes visibility not as arrogance but as legacy. Even before publication, her manuscript has already made a significant impact on those engaged with her work.

"This is more than a book—it's an anthem for every woman who has chosen to rise despite being told to shrink," she affirms.

Recognition with Purpose
Her recognition by Marquis Who's Who affirms Kai Moche-Prunty's place among a distinguished circle of leaders and innovators across industries. Known as a Restorative Leadership Designer, Kai continues to transform HR operations and equity initiatives into systems rooted in healing, inclusion, and resilience. For Kai, this honor is not merely an archive entry; it is an amplification of her voice and a platform to expand her influence in publishing, speaking, and advocacy.

Currently advancing her professional expertise, she is preparing to sit for the PHR exam in December 2025, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to growth and leadership in the HR field. "I want to be a living example of resilience," Kai says. "Proof that it's never too late to reclaim your purpose, reimagine your story, and become the person your younger self never dreamed was possible."

Education & Professional Development
Moche-Prunty earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Management with a concentration in Global Talent Management from Northeastern University (2024) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems Management from Southeastern University in Washington, D.C. (2005–2006).

She is a Certified Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), with additional MicroHR certifications in Organizational Theory, Strategic HR, and Talent & Performance. She is also a PHR exam candidate, scheduled for December 2025, which will further advance her professional expertise. In addition, she remains active in professional networks, including the Association for Talent Development, the Society for Human Resource Management, HR.com, the Human Resource Professional Association, and the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kai enjoys creating and experimenting with complex recipes in both cooking and baking. Looking ahead, she remains driven by a mission to humanize systems of equity while building lasting legacies for women and breaking the glass ceilings that they continue to face in workplaces and beyond.

She is dedicated to advocating for Black and Brown women, drawing on personal experiences with workplace bias to amplify voices that are too often unheard. Her aspirations include earning a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and establishing safe spaces where individuals feel empowered to express themselves openly.
