KEENE, NH, August 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly Farris has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marked by more than two decades of dedicated service and progressive responsibility, Ms. Farris has carved a remarkable career in nursing and health care leadership. As the director of inpatient services at Cheshire Medical center since 2023, she oversees inpatient medical-surgical units, administrative clinical supervisors, central monitor technicians, and the central staffing office. Her daily responsibilities involve conducting regular rounds to engage with all staff, addressing concerns and maintaining open communication through emails and meetings. Furthermore, she conducts monthly rounding with employees and is actively involved in various committees, system meetings and organization-specific gatherings.
A significant milestone in Ms. Farris' current role at Cheshire has been the successful onboarding of a new leadership team within her first two years as director. She guided the integration of two new managers and an assistant manager for the medical-surgical areas. Through her people-oriented approach, which emphasizes understanding, mentorship and support, she fostered improvements in patient satisfaction and employee engagement scores while reducing turnover rates.
Prior to her directorship, Ms. Farris served as a registered nurse (RN) and clinical leader at Cheshire Medical Center from 2002 to 2023. Early in her tenure, she worked in the float pool, providing bedside care across various units — a role she found deeply rewarding. She advanced to nursing supervisor, where she remained connected with all units by focusing on patient flow and resolving operational challenges. As administrative clinical supervisor for many years, she made critical decisions regarding float pool staff assignments and assessed patient needs. This position brought her into higher-level meetings with stakeholders outside the organization, expanding her professional network and deepening her understanding of effective leadership.
Upon becoming the manager of Cheshire's largest medical-surgical units, Ms. Farris complemented her longstanding clinical expertise with her natural managerial oversight, directly impacting patient care while gaining insight into health care policy changes and organizational direction. She excelled at communicating broader institutional goals to her team and later assumed roles as nursing supervisor manager and float pool manager during a period of organizational restructuring. Her outstanding contributions over the years have seen her honored with the Leadership Recognition Award in 2012, 2018 and 2023 as well as the Chairman's Award in 2018.
Thanks to a deep personal connection to Cheshire Medical Center — where her mother served as a leader in the emergency department for over five decades — Ms. Farris has always considered it home and knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue nursing. Committed to sharing insights and staying aware of best leadership practices, she is an active member of the Organization of Nurse Leaders. Additionally, she has distinguished herself as a national speaker at events such as "What Is Right In Healthcare" at the Huron National Conference in Colorado in 2024, reflecting her expanding influence on the industry at large.
Ms. Farris' academic achievements have been equally pivotal in shaping her career trajectory. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2025 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of New Hampshire in 2000. Along with her education, she attributes much of her success to mentorship received early in her career from her director, who recognized her potential as a future leader. She also credits collaborative teamwork, active listening and empathy for enabling her to provide constructive feedback that helps others reach their full potential.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Farris is civically engaged as a donor to local organizations and volunteers for Lunches for Local Middle Schools and Families. She held a successful Diaper Drive for her local Head Start Program, which provides learning tools and necessities for children from low-income families.
Happily married and a proud mother of two, Ms. Farris enjoys playing golf with her husband Chris and traveling with their son and daughter. In the coming years, she aims to network within health care systems and join additional professional organizations supporting the New Hampshire Hospital Association. Determined to continue making a lasting impact, she strives to serve both Cheshire Medical Center and its surrounding community by engaging with local boards to better understand their needs.
