MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 04, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leni Moore has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Moore's distinguished career is marked by a steadfast commitment to community leadership, philanthropy and the arts. Since 2019, she has served on the the board of trustees for the Minnesota Orchestra and is currently a Vice Chair of the board. She also, together with her husband David, chaired the Minnesota Orchestra's premier fundraising event, the Symphony Ball, in 2025. In these roles, Ms. Moore has contributed to the strategic direction and financial stewardship of one of Minnesota's premier cultural institutions.

Ms. Moore's dedication to service extends through her work as a community volunteer with the David and Leni Moore Family Foundation II, beginning in 2022. Through this foundation, she and her husband have supported numerous charitable initiatives, including establishing an annual internship for a graduate from Columbia Journalism School at the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Her philanthropic efforts are further reflected in her active participation on local boards and frequent leadership of fundraising galas, as well as often assuming key financial responsibilities such as treasurer.

Ms. Moore's influence in environmental conservation is evident through her tenure as a board member for the Minnesota, North and South Dakota regional chapter of The Nature Conservancy. She has also played a significant role in humanitarian advocacy as a board member for the Women's Refugee Commission in New York City.

Ms. Moore contributed her expertise as a co-chair for the Minnesota USA Expo 2027 bid from 2019 to 2023, demonstrating her ability to unite diverse stakeholders around ambitious civic projects.

Her longstanding commitment to the arts is highlighted by her service at the Minneapolis Institute of Art from 2011 to 2023, where she held multiple leadership positions, including board member, chair of the audit committee, chair of the government relations committee and board secretary. Additionally, Ms. Moore served as chair of the board and board member for Global Minnesota from 2013 to 2015, furthering international understanding and engagement, and still serves as an Honorary Trustee of that organization.

Ms. Moore's contributions to cultural organizations include serving on the boards of the Minnesota Opera from 2010 to 2016 and again from 2017 to 2020, Graywolf Press from 2006 to 2012 and the Minnesota Zoo Foundation from 2005 to 2011. She served as board chair of the New York Foundation for the Arts from 2003-2005. She also held leadership roles with the Minneapolis Foundation from 2016-2024 as board member and chair of the advancement committee.

Before dedicating herself fully to nonprofit leadership and philanthropy, Ms. Moore built a successful career in finance. She worked in real estate finance at Cushman and Wakefield for five years following two decades as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers, Prudential-Bache Securities, and the First Boston Corporation, ranging from 1975 to 1995.

Ms. Moore is affiliated with several esteemed organizations that reflect her broad interests and commitment to community engagement. She is a member of the Harvard Club of New York, the Cosmopolitan Club of New York, the Minneapolis Club, the Minikahda Club, the Norfolk Country Club in Connecticut and the Mill Reef Club in Antigua.

Her academic background has been instrumental in shaping her approach to leadership and service. Ms. Moore earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at Ohio State University with election to Phi Beta Kappa in 1970, followed by a year of graduate study in Child Clinical Psychology at Ohio State. She also served as Student co-chair of Ohio State University's Centennial Celebration 1n 1970. In addition to these degrees, she obtained a certificate in conservation biology from Columbia University in New York City in 2005, a program akin to environmental studies, where she represented the School of Continuing Education on the Columbia University Senate.

In recognition of her interest in national security issues, Ms. Moore was nominated, accepted and participated in the United States Army War College National Security Seminar in 2023. This seminar brought together approximately two hundred civilians nationwide alongside military officers for discussions on critical security topics.

Throughout her career, Ms. Moore has attributed her success to humility, diligence and integrity, values instilled early in life that continue to guide her actions. Her transition from corporate finance into nonprofit leadership was motivated by a desire to make a meaningful impact on society by connecting organizations and leveraging her expertise for altruistic purposes.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ms. Moore graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1966. She enjoys an active personal life that includes working on her golf game, playing bridge and mahjong, reading and spending time at her summer cottage or weekends at the lake. She cares for two dogs and values time spent visiting family in New York while dividing time between homes in Minnesota and New York City.
