His expertise encompasses dealers, private equity and franchisee companies across the United States. These businesses are involved in the residential home improvement contactor industry. He is recognized for his deep knowledge of financial options with Synchrony and high dollar agreements called Letters Of Understanding (LOU's).
This is Johnny's fifth position with Synchrony Bank over his 14 years in the industry. Before joining Synchrony Bank, his journey began in 1987 as an actor and model represented by the Eileen O'Farrell Talent Agency in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to the agency, Mr. Gibson became a liquor manager with Albertsons from 1999 to 2002, then preceding college, he became an account executive for Mindshare, a creative advertising firm in Santa Ana, CA from 2007 to 2009. Then he worked with his father as a sales associate in consumables for 'Results Period.' food & marketing corporation from 2009 to 2012, and worked as an ecocardiologist on the side for a clinic in Los Angeles, CA until he found his career with GE Capital. GE Capital went public in 2014 changing its name to Synchrony Bank.
Mr. Gibson's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in communications and advertising from California State University in Fullerton, CA earned in 2009. Furthermore, he pursued advanced learning through the Adcon Technical Institute in Santa Ana, CA, where he received full certification in Echocardiology and Vascular technology. He then received five other certifications from Harvard ManageMentor; Project Management, Leading People, Career Management, Negotiating and Persuading Others.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Gibson attributes his success to regular self-reflection, which motivates him through continuous improvement. His actions created his habits, his habits became his character, and his character drove him to become who he is today and will be tomorrow. This habitual mindset has shaped his career and enabled him to overcome significant personal challenges. Mr. Gibson has a heart condition called Transposition of the Great Arteries (congenital) and has gone through a current total of 24 heart procedures since birth, some of which led him to $138,000 in debt by the age of 28, the same year he began his career with Synchrony Bank. Today, he has no debt and has received more than 111 Above and Beyond awards from Synchrony, plus many other plaques, awards and honors from clients and industry partners.
Outside of work, Mr. Gibson enjoys reading, volleyball, golf, fishing, freediving, and spending time with family and his girlfriend. In his personal life, he values close family relationships, strives for personal and professional growth, and seeks new ways to build assets while nurturing connections with loved ones.
