UNIVERSITY PARK, MD, September 09, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Constance Belfiore has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Belfiore has dedicated over 45 years to the legal profession, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to justice and community service. Although professionally retired, she continues to serve as a board member for Community Legal Services of Prince George's County Inc. (CLS), after serving for many years as its president, and before that as its founding executive director. She also remains active in the Bar Association of DC (BADC), for which she served as president in 1997-1998.

In 1976, Ms. Belfiore began her professional journey as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Stanley S. Harris on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. The following year, she joined the U.S. Attorney's Office of the District of Columbia as an assistant U.S. attorney, where she served until 1985. During this period, she prosecuted hundreds of serious felony cases, and led a landmark original grand jury investigation into organized prostitution occasioned by heightened criminal activity during the U.S. bicentennial celebrations in 1977. Her work for the U.S. Department of Justice in creating victim-witness assistance units in federal prosecutors' offices nationwide underscores her dedication to supporting victims and upholding justice.

After spending 11 years establishing CLS as a premier provider of civil legal services with thousands of clients, Ms. Belfiore served as executive director of the National Association of Women Judges from 2001 to 2006,, rebuilding and earning for it national and international acclaim as a budding judicial think tank. Subsequently, she stepped off the board of the Friends Community School to become its first director of advancement, then interim head, and then its first director of admissions, from 2006 to 2021.

Serving as a foundation for her professional career, Ms. Belfiore earned a Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America in 1976. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in government and French from Kirkland & Hamilton Colleges, obtained in 1973. Beyond her formal education, she attributes her success to her ability to make sound decisions and her upbringing that emphasized ambition, integrity, and community service.

Ms. Belfiore's contributions have been recognized with several awards throughout her career. An award she initiated, to recognize employers who offer a good and balanced quality of life to their lawyers and staff, was subsequently named after her by the BADC in recognition of her trailblazer status. She has also been noted nationwide for her publications and speeches on criminal law reform, as well as quality of life issues.

Looking ahead, her professional and civic involvement continue to be extensive, via her active participation in CLS and her efforts to lead the legal profession toward offering balanced professional and personal lives.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Belfiore enjoys spending time with her family, traveling (especially to Italy), organizing community efforts so that they are effective, reading and caring for animals. She is also passionate about offering college admissions consulting to guide students through the process. Recently, she added Afghan refugees to the students whom she helps to gain entrance to colleges that align with their needs and strengths.
