DE WITT, MI, September 10, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexander Dailey has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Dailey has established a distinguished career in Athletic Training, marked by a commitment to advancing patient care, injury prevention and professional advocacy. Since 2022, he has served as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the Recreational Sports and Fitness Services Department at Michigan State University. In this capacity, he provides evaluations and rehabilitation services to club student-athletes, intramural student-athletes, and the broader student population who have sustained orthopedic injuries. Mr. Dailey also performs movement assessments for students seeking to reduce their injury risk before beginning new activities and assists in coverage for home club sport events and intramural competitions throughout the academic year.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr. Dailey is actively engaged in research at Michigan State University. He has submitted two Institutional Review Board studies: one focused on point-of-care research tracking patient rehabilitation progress to identify effective methods for achieving rehabilitation milestones and another examining risk mitigation and injury prevention programs in higher-risk club sports. Through data collected on injury types and volumes, Mr. Dailey is investigating whether these programs lead to injury reduction among club student-athletes, evidence of his dedication to evidence-based practice and desire to share valuable insights with fellow Athletic Trainers.
From 2019 to 2022, Mr. Dailey was the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Rehabilitation Coordinator at Oakland University, where he coordinated rehabilitation services and provided comprehensive care for intercollegiate student-athletes. Prior to Oakland University, he served as an Athletic Trainer I during an internship at Pennsylvania State University between 2018 and 2019, where Mr. Dailey contributed to the health and performance of student-athletes across the Cross Country and Track and Field programs.
From 2015 and 2018, Mr. Dailey thrived as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Northwood University, delivering healthcare to a wide variety of student-athletes. His Graduate Assistantship at the University of Virginia from 2014 to 2015 further honed his clinical skills while supporting the university's athletic programs. He initiated his career as an Athletic Training student at Michigan State University from 2011 to 2014, earning hands-on experience, and in 2013, he completed an internship as an Athletic Training Intern with the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball organization, gaining exposure to elite-level sports medicine practices at the minor league level.
Exceptional academic achievements further define Mr. Dailey's profile. He holds a Master of Education in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Virginia in 2015. He also became a Licensed Athletic Trainer (Virginia – 2014-2017, Michigan – starting in 2015, and Pennsylvania – 2018-2019). He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University, while graduating with High Honors and from Honors College in 2014. Upon graduation with his undergraduate degree, Mr. Dailey also passed his Board of Certification (BOC) test and became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). With both academic degrees, Mr. Dailey started building a network of mentors that guided him to different continuing education opportunities.
His mentors provided recommendations to allow Mr. Dailey to progress into a skillset that demonstrates considerable expertise in manual therapy, rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries, movement assessment, and mitigating injury risk. One of the main manual therapy certifications he has found came from Active Release Techniques LLC (Upper Extremity – 1, Lower Extremity – 1, Spine – 1, and Nerve). Certifications that have aided Mr. Dailey in rehabilitation include Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Champion Performance Specialist (C-PS) from the Advanced Continuing Education Institute, and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (P-BFR) by Owens Recovery Science. Courses in movement assessment and injury risk mitigation include Certification in Applied Functional Science (Gray Institute), 3DMAPS (Gray Institute), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA 1 and 2 – Functional Movement Systems), and Functional Movement Screen (FMS 1 and 2 – Functional Movement Systems).
Mr. Dailey attributes his success to an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, volunteer experiences to aid the Athletic Training profession, numerous mentorships that provided guidance throughout his career, networking with fellow Athletic Trainers, and continuously learning. He has volunteered for Michigan Athletic Trainers' Society (MATS) as President-Elect (2025-Present), Historical Chair (2024-2025), Secretary (2020-2024), and a Northern Lower Peninsula Regional Representative (2016-2018). Due to his vast service to the Athletic Training profession and aiding others, Mr. Dailey was recognized as the MATS 2025 Outstanding Young Professional Award. As a member of MATS, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association (GLATA), and National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA); he has been able to glean from supplementary mentors, network and learn from fellow Athletic Trainers.
Mr. Dailey is proud to conduct innovative research to contribute to the ongoing scholarly conversation in his field. In 2025, he presented a talk titled "A Novel Rehabilitation Approach: A Framework to Limit Roadblocks and Maximize Patient Outcomes" at Michigan Athletic Trainers' Society Annual Clinical Symposium. Mr. Dailey also co-authored the book "From Broken to Boss," published in 2022, journal article "Muscle Energy Technique for Glenohumeral Joint Horizontal Abductors," which was published by Athletic Training and Sports Health Care in 2017, and journal article "Postinjury Anxiety and Social Support Among Collegiate Athletes: A Comparison Between Orthopaedic Injuries and Concussions," which was published by Journal of Athletic Training in 2014.
Mr. Dailey achieves balance by spending time with his family, which includes two daughters, and by hiking, traveling and cooking. Looking toward the future, he aims to complete his ongoing research projects with Institutional Review Board approval, disseminate findings that improve patient care among Athletic Trainers nationwide and potentially deliver a TEDx Talk on musculoskeletal disorders affecting adults across the United States. Mr. Dailey will also persist in his advocacy to improve healthcare access so individuals can remain engaged in their chosen activities.
