As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Jones has established himself as a dedicated faculty member at Central Piedmont Community College, where he began serving in a full-time capacity in 2025. In this role, he teaches at least six sections of introductory communication courses each semester, manages a range of administrative and clerical responsibilities, including tracking attendance and responding to student inquiries, and supports the department in various capacities as needed. His commitment extends beyond the classroom, as he frequently travels between campuses, grades assignments, and assists students in accessing essential college resources, including student accessibility services, tutoring, and testing centers.
Also in 2025, Mr. Jones became a Digital SAT prep instructor with The Princeton Review (TPR Education IP Holdings, LLC). Balancing both positions concurrently, he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in communications and higher education. His dual roles reflect his versatility and dedication to student success across multiple educational platforms.
Before his current appointments, Mr. Jones served as adjunct faculty at Central Piedmont Community College from 2024 to 2025. During this period, he contributed to the academic development of students while refining his teaching methodologies and administrative skills.
From 2021 to 2025, Mr. Jones worked as a bilingual STEM tutor for Paper, an online platform providing academic support for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. He specialized in science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses and also tutored in English and Spanish, leveraging his bilingual proficiency to reach a diverse student population.
In addition to his tutoring responsibilities at Paper, Mr. Jones was an associate consultant for Ferrilli, Inc. from 2022 to 2023. In this capacity, he assisted higher education institutions in optimizing their use of technology systems such as customer relationship management platforms, enterprise resource planning tools, and learning management systems. His work focused on enhancing operational efficiency and supporting student achievement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Jones contributed his skills as a marketer for Southern Window and Gutter Company under Southern Industries Home Improvements. This experience broadened his professional background and provided valuable insights into business operations during challenging times.
In 2020, Mr. Jones held the position of brand manager at Red Stripe Management, where he was responsible for overseeing brand strategy and communications initiatives.
His academic journey included serving as a strategic communication graduate assistant with the Department of Educational and Organizational Leadership at Clemson University from 2019 to 2020. He also worked as a communications coordinator and graduate assistant in the Office of the Provost at Clemson University from 2018 to 2019.
Earlier roles include resident assistant at Clemson University from 2015 to 2018 and Spanish tutor at Clemson University from 2015 to 2017. Notably, he was the youngest tutor hired by Clemson's Academic Success Center during his second semester as a freshman in 2015, a testament to his early aptitude for teaching and language proficiency. Mr. Jones also gained experience as an information systems summer intern with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in 2017, further enhancing his technological prowess and client management skills.
Throughout his career, Mr. Jones has been recognized for his expertise in communications, higher education, and teaching. He was the president of the Programs for Educational Enrichment and Retention (PEER) Organization at Clemson University from 2016-2018, among many other executive board positions he held such as President of A.Bevy Collegiate Group at Clemson University, Academic Co-Chair & Secretary of Brother-2-Brother, and a founder of Clemson's Black Improvement Association. He also served on Clemson University's Student Affairs Student Advisory Board, all roles that highlight his leadership in academic and community enrichment initiatives.
Mr. Jones's educational achievements have been instrumental in shaping his professional trajectory. He earned a Master of Arts in Communication, Technology, and Society from Clemson University in South Carolina in 2020. This advanced degree provided him with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that inform his teaching approach today. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences at Clemson University, completed in 2018. His undergraduate studies included double minors, one of which was Spanish as a Modern Language, further supporting his ability to tutor bilingually.
The values instilled by his parents, his father being a successful realtor in Columbia, South Carolina and his mother an educator for over two decades who has also seen success in real estate, have played a significant role in Mr. Jones's commitment to learning and academic excellence. Their emphasis on scholastic achievement inspired him to dedicate himself fully to his studies and now motivates him to foster similar dedication among his students.
Mr. Jones's civic engagement is extensive. He served as a peer tutor for the Chi Zeta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. from 2015 to 2016 and as a computer science tutor with Programs for Educational Enrichment and Retention from 2016 to 2017. He is an active member of Charlotte Black Pride and serves as Carolinas Godfather of the Haus of Hua Mulan in the kiki ballroom scene. This role highlights his leadership within LGBTQ+ communities of color. Additionally, he volunteers by handing out water and snacks to the less fortunate in the Charlotte community, serves as a Member-at-Large for Charlotte Black Pride, and supports The House of Carolina nonprofit organization through various social initiatives.
His accomplishments have been recognized with several awards, including the Pinnacle Award from the W.E.B. DuBois Honor Society at Clemson University in 2017 and the Champion of Change award for his critical role in the Sikes Sit-In from the same society in 2016.
Among all achievements, Mr. Jones is most proud of earning his master's degree, a milestone reached by only a small percentage of Black queer men in America, and his pivotal role as the youngest student organizer during the Sikes Sit-In at Clemson University in April 2016. For nine days and eight nights, he helped lead a peaceful demonstration advocating for equitable treatment of underrepresented populations on campus. As one of the primary spokespersons for this movement, he addressed crowds, delivered speeches, and represented the cause on news broadcasts, demonstrating both leadership and communication prowess.
Born in Stone Mountain, Mr. Jones enjoys performing in the kiki scene of ballroom, a passion that connects him with community members across Charlotte's vibrant cultural scene. He also enjoys recreational volleyball as a physical hobby and strategy-based games as an intellectual and tactical hobby, both passions that allow him many opportunities to build diverse connections with others from various parts of the world.
Looking ahead, Mr. Jones aspires to contribute meaningfully to transformative change within higher education throughout North Carolina by implementing innovative teaching strategies rooted in tradition while fostering greater cohesion among LGBTQ+ people of color through continued involvement with Charlotte Black Pride, the Haus of Hua Mulan in the kiki scene, and The House of Carolina nonprofit.
