Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by nearly three decades of progressive responsibility and innovation, Dr. Beene has established a remarkable career in nursing leadership. Since 2019, she has served as the senior vice president and chief health informatics officer at Trinity Health in Livonia, Michigan. In this capacity, she has been pivotal in shaping the organization's digital transformation strategy, leveraging her expertise in information systems and technology as well as clinical redesign to address complex challenges within the health care sector.

One of Dr. Beene's most notable achievements at Trinity Health is her co-development of an innovative nursing transformation care delivery model. Working closely with Dr. Gay Landstrom, the current chief nurse executive at the facility, she pioneered a revolutionary approach that integrates advanced technology to address the ongoing nursing crisis and evolving workforce demands. This model stands out for its balanced focus on technological advancement and the essential needs of the nursing profession, setting a new standard for care delivery nationwide.

Prior to reaching her current roles at Trinity Health, Dr. Beene was the vice president and chief nursing informatics officer from 2018 to 2019. Beyond her executive roles, Dr. Beene shares her insights and expertise through active participation in industry organizations. She is recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, serves on the board of the American Telehealth Association and contributes to the research board at Truveta, which utilizes advanced data-collecting techniques to drive scientific investigation. Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Beene is committed to enhancing animal welfare as a volunteer with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
