From 2018 to 2021 at Google, Mr. Khinda served as Android stack lead for Firebase Performance, a platform used by millions of developers and reaching billions of end users. He drove core SDK and build-tooling innovations that improved performance observability and materially reduced build and release friction for the global Android community.

Earlier, at Open Garden, Mr. Khinda contributed to decentralized, off-grid mesh-networking capabilities that enable resilient communication in infrastructure-limited or disaster-recovery contexts—reflecting a career-long focus on technologies with broad public benefit. He also led AHRQ-funded digital-health pilots as senior research assistant at the Research Foundation for SUNY, integrating HIPAA-compliant telemetry and gamified adherence to support patients and clinicians.

MENTORING & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

Beyond his professional work, Mr. Khinda is deeply committed to mentorship and community building. He served as a résumé and career coach with the Grow with Google initiative, guiding students and early-career professionals on résumés, interviews, and career transitions. He currently mentors students at Duke and Rutgers University through LinkedIn's Possibilities [in] Tech program, helping the next generation navigate pathways into the technology industry.

A multi-time hackathon winner—including at Google/Firebase and IIT Delhi (3.8M+ Reach)—Mr. Khinda now serves as a judge for Major League Hacking–affiliated competitions at leading universities such as Cornell University (BigRed//Hacks), University of Washington (DubHacks), Johns Hopkins University (HopHacks), University at Buffalo (UB Hacking), as well as global GTM hackathons. A first-generation professional from Punjab, India, Mr. Khinda earned an M.S. in computer science and engineering (advanced software and information systems) from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.Tech. in computer science and engineering from Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar.

Mr. Khinda and his wife moved to the United States to build a life anchored in innovation, opportunity, and service.
