Most recently, she managed the Patient Growth and Retention department at Family Care Specialists Medical Group/Altais from 2007 to March 2025. In this capacity, she provided critical education to Seniors navigating Medicaid and Medicare, conducted individual appointments to explain benefits and eligibility criteria, managed patient inquiries and follow-ups, and provided state and federally funded programs for needy patients. She organized many outreach programs, including a shoe drive for seniors, encouraged preventive health screenings, and maintained and grew patient relationships and trust in the community. Her commitment to supporting vulnerable senior populations was evident in her work. During this period, she created a mini-information center for seniors that became a model for other medical groups, hospitals, and community-based organizations. The business plan she wrote and implemented led to her outstanding achievement of growing and maintaining her patient base by 85% over the years.

Earlier in her career, Ms. De Gutierrez held the position of director at Maximus Healthcare Options for one year. In this role, she was the Director of Marketing for the State of California. She managed 13 counties for Medi-Caid enrollments. In this role, she further developed her administrative skills and deepened her commitment to patient advocacy.

For a decade before joining Maximus Healthcare Options, Ms. De Gutierrez was a manager at White Memorial Medical Center. There, she played a pivotal role in developing an information center that attracted attention from other hospitals, seeking to replicate its success. The center offered various community services in one location, streamlining access for those most in need. Her leadership fostered positive relationships with Physicians, community-based organizations, and patients. She also served as a mentor to her colleagues and inspired ongoing personal educational growth. Most of her staff have gone on to continue their professional education and continue to work in the community. She continues volunteering at White Memorial Medical Center, teaching doctors about Medicare and Medi-Cal processes. Her ability to engage medical professionals in meaningful discussions, education, and orientation has enhanced their understanding of governmental systems and funding available to patients in an effort to make known the available programs for the patients and facilitate the utilization and payment of medical services.

Ms. De Gutierrez began her professional career as a lactation educator at Santa Marta Hospital. In this early role, she taught mothers how to breastfeed and launched innovative initiatives such as the car seat program. Recognizing the unique needs of Spanish-speaking patients who did not own cars but required strollers instead of car seats, she advocated for a stroller program. By collaborating with Graco to secure affordable umbrella strollers, she set a precedent that inspired other hospitals to expand their offerings for new mothers.

Her academic background has played a crucial role in shaping her career achievements. De Gutierrez earned a Master of Business Administration from La Sierra University in Riverside in 2006, after completing a bachelor's degree in public administration at the University of Southern California. She holds Lactation Educator, Childbirth Educator, Labor Support Training, and Doula certifications from the University of California at Los Angeles. As a hobby, she received her certification as a Pastry Chef from Le Cordon Bleu. These credentials have enabled her to approach healthcare challenges with administrative acumen and compassionate care and have kept her passion for baking alive.

Ms. De Gutierrez attributes her success to divine intervention, believing that many of her ideas are inspired by a higher power. She attributes her success to God, who has provided her with opportunities that have enabled her to make meaningful contributions to her community throughout her career. Her involvement extends beyond professional settings into civic life through active participation in church activities. This engagement reflects her enduring commitment to service and community support.

Born in Los Angeles, Ms. De Gutierrez is the mother of three children and enjoys woodworking, volunteering at church, knitting, crocheting, reading, traveling, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. De Gutierrez has taught women to knit, crochet, bake, make blankets, and sew to support themselves and their children. Her career is distinguished by innovation, creativity, compassion, and dedication, which have left an indelible mark on healthcare education and her community throughout Southern California.
