SPRINGFIELD, VA, September 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- KimUyen Thi Nguyen has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Nguyen has established a distinguished career in the United States Coast Guard, where she currently serves as clinic administrator at the United States Coast Guard Base National Capital Region, a position she has held since 2023. In this capacity, she oversees the clinic at the Washington, D.C., headquarters, providing medical services to more than 2,000 active-duty Coast Guard personnel. She manages a team of 33 staff members, including uniformed personnel and contractors across medical, dental and pharmacy departments. Her leadership ensures the delivery of comprehensive health care services and supports the operational readiness of service members.

Before her current role, Ms. Nguyen served as a health services technician with the United States Coast Guard from 2010 to 2022. During her tenure in this position, she gained extensive experience in clinical care both on land and at sea. Notably, she served independently aboard the CGC HEALY, the Polar Icebreaker, supporting scientific missions in the Arctic by providing essential medical care to crew and researchers. Her responsibilities included direct patient care, emergency response and facilitating medical logistics for remote operations. Ms. Nguyen's commitment was further demonstrated through multiple deployments during public health crises such as the Ebola and COVID-19 outbreaks, where she assisted with airport screening for individuals entering the United States. She also participated in Operation Sentry Vigilance in Key West and at the southwest border, assisting with medical screenings for migrants arriving by foot or sea before their transfer to Customs and Border Protection for further processing.

Throughout her 17-year career with the Coast Guard, Ms. Nguyen has been recognized for her dedication to service and her ability to provide critical resources to those in need, a professional achievement she considers among her most significant.

Ms. Nguyen's academic background includes a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from the University of Arkansas, Grantham, completed in 2025, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the University of Washington, earned in 2007. Her educational achievements have provided a strong foundation for her roles in clinical care and administration. She attributes her decision to join the military to a desire to give back to the country that welcomed her family and community, honoring the sacrifices made by her father and others who fought in the Vietnam War.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ms. Nguyen is an active member of the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association. Through this organization, she mentors new military personnel and their families, offering guidance based on her own experiences navigating military life without similar support when she first enlisted. Her mentorship extends to cadets and participants in the Mentorship Program.

Ms. Nguyen's commitment to service is also reflected in her volunteer work. She has supported students through the Coast Guard's Partner in Education Program and has taught at local temples or churches serving Vietnamese American communities.

Her exemplary service has been recognized with honors, including Sailor of the Quarter from the United States Coast Guard and nominations for awards from the Vietnamese American Uniformed Services Association.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Nguyen enjoys hiking, running and exploring new towns. Looking ahead, she aspires to contribute further by working for the Gates Foundation or returning to Vietnam to serve underserved populations at a local clinic following her retirement from military service.
