GAINESVILLE, VA, September 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carl R. Street Jr., LPC, LSATP, MAC, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Street has established a distinguished career in behavioral health services, marked by his expertise in managing outpatient services and his commitment to advancing mental health and substance abuse care across Northern Virginia. Since 2015, Mr. Street became the director of behavioral health services for Youth For Tomorrow and was promoted to the executive team as vice president for behavioral health services in 2020. Under his outstanding leadership, he oversees seven outpatient offices in regions including Prince William, Loudoun, Fauquier and Richmond. In this capacity, he manages a team of 52 therapists and 66 staff members, collectively serving approximately 1,600 patients at any given time. Notably, Mr. Street's signature leadership has been instrumental in expanding the organization's reach and impact, with an eighth location set to open in Fairfax in 2026.
Mr. Street's association with Youth for Tomorrow, a non-profit organization to serve at risk youth, founded by former Washington football head coach, Joe Gibbs, began in 1989, when he contributed to the organization's mission through various capacities including director of residential services preceded by positions as residential shift supervisor, substance abuse counselor and assistant director of residential services. His tenure was briefly interrupted when he accepted a position with Prince William County Community Services serving as a substance abuse/mental health therapist in 2005. During this period, he played a vital role in addressing the opioid epidemic by providing drug and mental health treatment within the Prince William Adult Detention Center, delivering substance abuse/mental health treatment services. Mr. Street subsequently returned to Youth for Tomorrow in 2015, assuming responsibility for managing and growing outpatient behavioral services and furthering the organization's growth.
Throughout his career, Mr. Street has demonstrated a profound dedication to public service and professional excellence. He was nominated in 2015 by Prince William County Board of Supervisors and continues to serve as the regular at large private provider representative to the Community Policy and Management Team for Comprehensive Services Act – At-Risk Youth & Families. In recognition of his expertise and leadership, he was appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia Board of Service and Volunteerism in 2024 and to the State Executive Council for Children's Services in 2025. Mr. Street is proud that his contributions have earned him additional recognition through several distinct honors, and he humbly accepted the Best of Prince William County Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Counselors award in 2020 and 2025 and the Mental Health Champion Award from the Virginia Healthcare Foundation in 2024.
Mr. Street's academic accomplishments have proven foundational to his success. He completed coursework in professional counseling at Liberty University and subsequently earned a master's degree in psychology from George Mason University, which provided him with comprehensive exposure to residential care, counseling and outpatient work. He has also secured various industry credentials, including licensed professional counselor, licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner and master's addiction counseling certification from NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. These certifications have enabled Mr. Street to deliver evidence-based therapies in tandem with medication-assisted treatment services during critical periods such as the opioid crisis.
Mr. Street attributes his achievements to his formative experiences at Youth for Tomorrow and his academic experiences, which offered valuable training opportunities and exposure to community service initiatives. He credits his early work in restaurants and youth groups with shaping his interpersonal skills before transitioning into behavioral health care, and Mr. Street acknowledges that family experiences involving mental health and substance use issues, along with his enduring faith, inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to helping others improve their lives through compassionate support.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Street is devoted to his family life. He is married to his best friend and loving wife since 1992 and is the father of two sons, one of whom is studying psychology and communications with plans to pursue a master's degree to become a counselor, and the other is preparing for a career as a teacher. Looking toward the future, Mr. Street plans to remain focused on expanding Youth for Tomorrow's network of outpatient offices while ensuring organizational stability and training future leaders in behavioral health services.
