Ms. Connor has established a distinguished career in public health and operations management, currently serving as the director of operations at Heal Precisely, a company that brings advanced wound care directly to patients, focusing on restoring dignity, independence and quality of life for every patient. In this role, she oversees statewide schedule management and coverage coordination for patients, manages field communication and enforces policies daily. Named Employee of the Year in 2024, Ms. Connor's responsibilities also include overseeing onboarding and training as well as building clinical case studies with valued health care partners. Her expertise in creating and implementing processes and policies has been instrumental in enabling resources that support patients throughout their healing journey.
Ms. Connor was a community hospice educator at Chapters Health System from 2021 to 2024. During this time, she focused on care coordination and patient advocacy, collaborating with hospital teams to provide the best care and resources possible to patients. Working closely with one specific hospital group, she led the creation of a policy that allowed babies facing terminal diagnoses to be admitted to hospice services before birth. This initiative streamlined the process for families, enabling them to access comfort measures more quickly during these challenging times. Ms. Connor's dedication to improving patient advocacy made a significant impact on the lives of many families.
Among other noteworthy roles, she served as a senior program associate at The Carter Center, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Atlanta and founded by President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. She led day-to-day operations of the Rosalynn Carter Fellowships for Mental Health Journalism and worked closely with partners in Colombia and the Middle East, often on the ground with journalists in efforts to decrease the stigma of mental health issues around the world.
Beyond her primary roles, she has contributed as a guest lecturer at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and reviewing abstracts for the American Public Health Association sharing her knowledge with future public health professionals. She also had the opportunity to represent the United States at the Global Anti-Stigma Alliance in The Netherlands and as an international panel organizer and moderator for the World Innovation Summit for Health to influence global discussion around mental health.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Connor worked at UNATION from 2011 to 2016 as a business development analyst and head of marketing. Highly educated, Ms. Connor's academic background includes earning a bachelor's degree in food and nutrition science from Florida State University in 2008 and a Master of Public Health with a focus on communications and marketing from George Washington University in 2011. Her education has been complemented by several professional credentials, including several nutrition therapy certifications, hostile environment awareness training certification from Sigma7 Risk and Strategic Management in 2019, and a certificate in integrative mental health from Cengage Group in 2020.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Connor is actively involved in community initiatives. She serves as a committee member for the Tampa chapter of 1 Million Cups and mentors student entrepreneurs and local organizations.
Her inspirations have been her father, Rick Nafe, who served as the Executive Director of the Tampa Sports Authority, brought hockey and baseball spring training to Tampa, then served as the VP of Operations for the Tampa Bay Rays; her mother, Ellen Nafe, who has never wavered in her determination to do and lead what is right building a National School of Character and becoming an integral part of the NAEYC and FCIS organizations; and Mrs. Carter who never saw herself above anyone she worked with or knew and never saw a worthy goal too large to tackle.
Ms. Connor remains committed to addressing gaps in health care that affect individuals who struggle to find support. Her goal is to contribute solutions that provide resources and personalized attention, empowering individuals to achieve their health goals and live fulfilling lives. With a strong sense of purpose, Ms. Connor is enthusiastic about future opportunities that align with her dedication to problem-solving and improving health care outcomes.
