Earlier in his career, Mr. Newberry earned foundational experience as the operations manager at Kenworth Truck Company from 2015 to 2019. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing production lines, optimizing workflow processes and mentoring teams to achieve operational targets. He also cites the influence of having served honorably in the United States Army from 1998 to 2019. Throughout his military tenure, during which time he accepted the Bronze Star, Mr. Newberry developed advanced leadership skills and a strong sense of duty, qualities that have profoundly influenced his approach to civilian management roles.
Notably, during his early years in the Army, Mr. Newberry co-founded Seniors for Soldiers. This nonprofit organization connected soldiers with elderly individuals in retirement homes to help prevent suicide by fostering meaningful connections through regular visits. He volunteered as a teacher for Junior Achievement USA from 2017 to 2019 and served as the campaign chair for Kenworth Truck Company's United Way Worldwide efforts between 2016 and 2018. Additional contributions include working as a kitchen worker at DC Central Kitchen in 2015, serving as an archivist and battlefield tour guide for the Center for Military History that same year and acting as an aid worker with Sinclair Ohio Fellows from 2002 to 2004.
