From 2019 to 2022, Mr. Griggs was a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Mooreville Elementary School in Mooreville, Mississippi. In this position, he developed innovative lesson plans tailored to meet diverse learning needs and fostered a supportive classroom environment that encouraged student growth and achievement. He began his teaching career as an English teacher in the Tupelo Public School District from 2015 to 2019, during which he cultivated students' literacy skills and promoted critical thinking through engaging curriculum design.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Griggs has maintained active membership in the Mississippi Association of Educators, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development and awareness of best administrative practices.

Hailing from a robust academic background of his own, Mr. Griggs earned an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Mississippi College, graduating magna cum laude in 2022. Prior to that, he obtained a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Mississippi College in 2019 as well as a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Mississippi in 2015. Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education with a focus on educational administration at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Along with his education, Mr. Griggs attributes his success to his unwavering determination and never-give-up approach, regardless of challenges or circumstances. Originally aspiring to become a physical therapist during his early college years, he experienced a pivotal moment after reading an article titled "Young Men in America." The piece highlighted a lack of positive male role models in schools, prompting him to change his major to education. Inspired by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives beyond physical health, he discovered a passion for teaching and supporting children who needed guidance and encouragement.

In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Griggs is deeply involved in his local church, where he regularly volunteers his time and resources to support ministry efforts and outreach initiatives. He is also passionate about organizing and participating in service projects that directly benefit individuals and families in the local community, reflecting his strong commitment to faith, compassion, and giving back beyond the classroom.

Happily married and a proud father of one, Mr. Griggs enjoys reading, spending time with his family, listening to his daughter play piano and watching her participate in pageants. In the coming years, he aspires to become superintendent of a school district — particularly one facing significant challenges — where he can bring motivation and commitment to drive transformative change. Ultimately, he hopes to be considered for the role of state superintendent.
