Between 2018 and 2022, he was assigned to the homicide division, where he investigated homicides and provided critical support to victims' families during challenging times.

From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Gonzalez served in the criminal investigation division's sexual assault unit, handling sensitive cases with care and professionalism. Earlier in 2017, he worked in the regional investigation division, concentrating on crimes against persons and further honing his investigative skills. From 2013 to 2017, he was part of the patrol unit in Bowie, District II, where he gained valuable frontline experience responding to emergencies and engaging directly with residents.

Prior to joining Prince George's County Police, Mr. Gonzalez served as a police officer in Baltimore City for two and a half years. His early career also included work as a caseworker for the EARN program in Pennsylvania. In this role, he assisted welfare recipients by guiding them through pre-training and employment programs designed to help individuals transition into the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency.

Mr. Gonzalez's professional journey began with four years of service in the United States Air Force. His military experience instilled discipline and a strong sense of duty that have informed his approach throughout his law enforcement career. He is an active member of FOP Lodge 89. He collorates with with outside jurisdictions with the Violent Crime Group.

Mr. Gonzalez's educational background includes a master's degree in criminal justice from American Military University and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Park University. His academic pursuits were shaped by an early interest in finance and economics; however, financial challenges led him to join the Air Force, where he discovered a passion for meaningful public service. These experiences inspired him to pursue higher education focused on criminal justice—a field where he could make a tangible difference by helping others.

Mr. Gonzalez approaches his responsibilities as detective sergeant with compassion for all victims and a deep commitment to mentorship within his team. He finds fulfillment in providing guidance and support to fellow detectives, ensuring they have a strong foundation for success. He takes pride in witnessing others achieve their goals, seeing victims receive justice and contributing to safer communities. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his exemplary service with honors such as Detective of the Year for 2018 to 2019 and the Commander's Award.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mr. Gonzalez values time spent mountain hiking and camping with his family.
