His earlier positions included Commercial Leasing Account Manager in Knoxville, TN (1978–1982)—where he earned multiple honors including District and Region Salesperson of the Year as well as Million Dollar Roundtable recognition—and Account Manager Trainee in Miami, FL (1977).

Mr. Rountree earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Finance from Clemson University in 1977. During his time at Clemson, he displayed strong leadership as Treasurer of the Student Body, Student Senator, officers of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity, and member of the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. He also served as State President of the Order of DeMolay in South Carolina. These formative experiences equipped him with leadership, financial, and analytical skills that shaped his professional success.
