During this time, he played a pivotal role in the Bank's transition from IAS 39 to IFRS 9, a landmark regulatory reform introduced after the global financial crisis. His early responsibilities included supporting financial management for Africa's largest bank by asset size and driving performance improvements through effective budgeting and operational enhancements. He later took on the preparation and analysis of the Bank's financial statements, regularly presenting insights to executive management. His contributions were instrumental to both the institution's success and his rapid professional progression.

Mr Atanda has supported several fintech firms across Africa as a consultant, helping them understand their business models and improve financial forecasting, particularly in areas such as liquidity and cash flow management. His efforts enabled these companies to manage short-term obligations effectively, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in corporate finance.

Mr. Atanda's academic achievements have been foundational to his success. He holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Lagos in Nigeria, graduating in 2011. He later returned to college, acquiring a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in New York City in 2023, an experience he considers transformative due to its diverse learning environment and collaborative culture.
