As the chief operations officer, Mr. Benavides has already achieved a significant milestone: creating 120 year-round jobs—a number that increases to 150 during the busiest season. His role is pivotal in creating and maintaining sustainable and scalable processes that ensure seamless operations for both employees and clients. Furthermore, Mr. Benavides' responsibilities encompass overseeing operations across various departments, including information technology, human resources, sales, design, marketing, logistics, quality control, and more, and he ensures every employee is heard and their contributions are valued.

During his working hours, Mr. Benavides devotes the early hours of his day to working with construction crews before transitioning to retail and store operations. His hands-on approach involves training sales representatives and designers, preparing for client interactions, meeting with department heads, and visiting customers' homes or stores. Since excelling in the architecture and design industry, he has had the opportunity to be featured on several well-known home renovation shows, such as Property Brothers, when he was interviewed and chosen to be their landscaper for the Celebrity IOU series.

Since that initial appearance on Property Brothers, Mr. Benavides has appeared on nearly 15 episodes of the show as well as Brother Versus Brother, Melissa McCarthy's renovation show, and a hotel rescue show. Looking forward, he and the company aspire to have their own television series or show as they continue working in the field. So far, they have captured the attention of several networks, including Magnolia, HGTV, Netflix, and A&E, for a potential renovation show.

Before joining The Standard Design Group Nurseries and entering into the world of architecture and design, Mr. Benavides had a diverse career path that spanned two decades. Starting at the age of 19, he worked in retail management, where he stayed for 10 years and worked his way up to management by the time he was 26 years of age. Thereafter, Mr. Benavides transitioned to construction, where he worked in the oil field for another decade. Once more, he worked his way up the ladder. His journey from starting as a welder's helper to becoming a Certified Welding Inspector by the American Welding Society within five years demonstrated his dedication to professional growth and adaptability.

Mr. Benavides' ability to navigate a new industry three times over, excel, and obtain a leadership position in each exhibits his strong work ethic and decision-making skills. When he was younger, he chose to focus on preparing himself for the future rather than indulging in distractions. Thus, he was able to stay ahead of his peers and continuously improve himself. As he continues on in his career, Mr. Benavides maintains his belief in the value of hard work and continual learning.

As a result of his time in the architecture and design industry, Mr. Benavides pursued several certifications that have contributed to his success, including a drainage certification and an irrigation certification. Through The Standard Design Group Nurseries, he has also been involved in several efforts to support and uplift the community's youth. Not only did the business make a generous donation of $50,000 to the Chris Taylor Foundation to help renovate the outdoor space for the Boys and Girls Club, but they have donated new scoreboards for the basketball gym of a local high school and sponsored a bus to usher the girls' basketball team to the state championship, among other efforts.

Looking ahead, Mr. Benavides has ambitious plans for both his professional career and The Standard Design Group Nurseries. His vision includes retiring the current Chief Executive Officer, potentially stepping into the role himself, to maximizing profitability for the entire operation. Ultimately, after evolving the company in this direction, he plans to retire himself while ensuring the company operates profitably and efficiently enough to support staff growth and development. Mr. Benavides' goals are not just for himself but are aligned with those of his employees, understanding that collective success is key to achieving personal milestones.
