Mrs. Jackson-Hayes has established a distinguished career in education, marked by her expertise in behavior management, classroom management and building connections with students. Her professional journey reflects a steadfast commitment to fostering positive environments for children and supporting their growth.
In 2025, Mrs. Jackson-Hayes assumed the role of assistant principal at the Caverna Independent School District. In this capacity, she addresses student behavior, manages discipline and motivates students to achieve their best. She is responsible for improving attendance, advising on classroom management strategies and creating a family-like atmosphere within the school. Additionally, her efforts focus on encouraging peer support, fostering a sense of belonging, building meaningful relationships with students, facilitating leadership opportunities for them and helping them develop confidence and responsibility.
Since 2022, Mrs. Jackson-Hayes has also served as a STEM instructor and curriculum coordinator at Jonesville Academy. In this dual role, she has contributed to the development and implementation of innovative curricula designed to engage students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Her work there emphasizes hands-on learning and the cultivation of critical thinking skills.
Prior to these positions, Mrs. Jackson-Hayes dedicated seven years as a classroom teacher at Jennings Creek Elementary within the Warren County School System. During her tenure from 2015 to 2022, she was recognized for her ability to connect with students and create structured yet nurturing classroom environments. Her approach centered on mutual respect in communication and discipline — a philosophy that has been instrumental in her success throughout her career. Her foundational experience was three years of teaching at Park City Elementary in the Barren County School System.
Mrs. Jackson-Hayes's academic background has played a pivotal role in shaping her professional achievements. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in leadership at the University of the Cumberlands, furthering her knowledge in educational leadership and administration. She previously earned her Rank I in School Administration, a master's degree as a literacy specialist from the University of the Cumberlands in 2015, and completed a bachelor's degree in elementary education at Western Kentucky University in 2014. Her academic journey began with an associate degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2009.
The roots of Mrs. Jackson-Hayes's dedication can be traced to her early experiences as a youth leader at her church — a role she has held for over two decades. Encouraged by her pastor to teach youth Bible study, she discovered a passion for mentoring young people that would later define her career path. After serving four years in the military and spending fourteen years working in a factory setting, she decided to pursue education professionally so that she could align her work schedule with that of her son while fulfilling what she saw as her true calling.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Jackson-Hayes has been recognized for her unwavering determination to never give up — a quality she considers her most notable achievement. She is deeply committed to being a positive influence for children and credits much of her success to prayer, commitment, and determination. Beyond her professional life, Mrs. Jackson-Hayes enjoys spending time with her family. Being down to earth, she enjoys music, sports, dominoes, and riding motorcycles, as she is currently striving to obtain a motorcycle license. She also continues to lead youth at church and is active in various community roles attempting to be a positive example for every child she meets.
Mrs. Jackson-Hayes' excellence has been acknowledged through several honors, including the Ellen Taylor Alexander Outstanding Educator Award in 2023. She was also nominated for Kentucky Teacher of the Year in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
