Mr. Orona has established himself as a leading figure in the design and construction industry, with more than 22 years of experience spanning multiple disciplines in construction, architecture, structural, mechanical, plumbing & electrical engineering as well as other sub-disciplines within the realm of building design and technology. Mr. Orona has worked on countless projects of various sectors from higher education, institutional, entertainment and commercial to medical, industrial, data center technology and military Army Corps of Engineers. As a senior BIM/VDC coordinator at Cupertino Electric, Inc. in San Jose, California, since 2020, he created operations and developed standards for how to manage and coordinate BIM (Building Information Modeling) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) projects. In this capacity, Mr. Orona consults and provides direction as well as implementation for project model setup ensuring a solid foundation for coordination. He is a crucial resource throughout the project lifecycle supporting engineering and design teams and coordinating with other disciplinary trades on high profile projects. Mr. Orona manages and creates comprehensive three-dimensional environments for projects with a LOD (Level of Development) spanning anywhere from 100-500. He provides insight and solutions as the main technical liaison for both BIM and VDC for all projects in the engineering department. His responsibilities include overseeing quality control, supporting engineering teams on project deliverables, conducting clash detection, preparing quality control reports, resolving issues and establishing best practices for BIM/VDC operations. He supports designers and engineers by providing continued training and mentoring fostering continued grow for those whom engage with him.

Mr. Orona is also the founder of EcoCentric Solutions LLC. Through this venture, he aspires to create and advance innovative approaches towards renewable design and construction with sustainability, environment and overall wellbeing as the main focus.

From 2018 to 2020, Mr. Orona served as an AEC CAD/BIM specialist leading quality control analysis and BIM/VDC implementations with Astreya at Google in Sunnyvale, California. In this position, he was responsible for defining standards and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of design models from all trades as well as construction documentation. His influence fostered trade consultants to deliver high quality project models to met defined standards and criteria created and implemented by Mr. Orona to be used for data center projects around the globe.

Between 2016 and 2018, he held the position of AEC CAD/BIM manager at Gordon Prill, Inc. a multi-disciplinary and construction firm in Sunnyvale, California. Mr. Orona provided support developing standards, 3D modeling content, documentation and workflows for multidisciplinary MEP teams while training and supporting design engineering staff. In his spare time Mr. Orona served as an educator in design and building information modeling at Silicon Valley Polytechnic Institute, Inc.(SVPTI), San Jose, CA.

In 2016, Mr. Orona contributed his expertise as a DDC (Data Center Document Control) specialist at Facebook in Menlo Park, California. He played a pivotal role in developing workflows for documentation control processes related to data center projects.

Earlier that same year, he worked as an AECO solutions specialist with Microdesk in San Francisco, California, where he allocated his expertise to collaborate with consultants on various Engineering projects across the Bay Area. He also assisted integration of BIM technology and processes on behalf of Microdesk and their clients.

From 2014 to 2016, Mr. Orona obtained his Autodesk Certifications both as a certified Revit Professional and a Certified Autodesk Instructor. At this time he traveled the nation providing custom solutions to AEC firms by conducting 1:1 and group training on Autodesk applications. He also provided custom analysis and plans of execution to evolve designers and engineers in using Autodesk Revit applications and associated coordination platforms. As an AECO applications engineer at ATG USA, Mr. Orona provided additional support with Autodesk licensing and technical support for clients. In this role he educated numerous architectural and engineering firms by training their entire engineering and design staff on advanced software solutions.

His earlier experience includes serving as an AutoCAD/Revit BIM technical specialist at TME, Inc. from 2011 to 2014. There, he gained relative industry experience in mechanical and electrical drafting/design utilizing three-dimensional models to create construction documentation and ensure coordination. Mr. Orona's work set the bar for how projects were presented and executed. All the design documentation he produced was stamped and sealed by one of the founding CEO's as the official engineer of record. Within this period of time Rudy served as an advisor of the Board of Education at ITT Technical Institute, Little Rock, AR. His involvement helped create industry relative education criteria for proceeding students enrolled in the Engineering and a technology program.

Mr. Orona began his professional journey at O&S Construction, LLC in Little Rock, Arkansas, from 2003 to 2011 as an assistant project manager and skilled laborer for commercial and residential projects. This foundational experience provided him with practical construction knowledge across all facets and disciplinary trades fueling his trajectory for future growth in his chosen field of expertise.

Throughout his career, Mr. Orona has been recognized for his commitment to developing others by sharing his knowledge and expertise with colleagues across all levels of experience. He has dedicated significant time to mentoring individuals who are new to industry and software or processes, empowering them to develop lasting careers creating effective design documentation regardless of their prior background.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, a testament to his dedication to academic excellence and professional integrity.

Mr. Orona earned an Associate of Science in computer drafting and design from ITT Technical Institute in 2010. His academic achievements were recognized through academic grants for outstanding academic performance as well as the Outstanding Student Award in advanced composition writing from ITT Technical Institute. The technical foundation gained through his degree has been instrumental in opening opportunities within the design sector and advancing his career.

He holds several certifications that have further enhanced his expertise, including Bystander Training: From Bystander to Upstander, Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences, and Unconscious Bias. Additionally, as mentioned previously he is also an Autodesk Certified Instructor and an Autodesk Certified Revit Professional and continues to stay on top of the most current software applications and processes used in the Building Design and Construction industry. These credentials reflect his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Mr. Orona attributes his success to humble beginnings. At an early age his parents instilled strong work ethic, resiliency and responsibility. Rudy demonstrates his values for people by engaging in random acts of kindness and helping those in need. As an explorer of the inner mind and spirit Rudy enjoys meditating and practicing yoga.
