FORT MILL, SC, October 15, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Blake Day, PE, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A licensed professional engineer, Mr. Day has carved a distinguished career in civil engineering, marked by his expertise in large-scale manufacturing and mission-critical data center facilities. For over a decade, he has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to enhancing both his community and the environment, earning recognition for his technical acumen and leadership within the industry.

Mr. Day serves as both a shareholder and associate at Kimley-Horn — the culmination of a journey that started in 2013. In these capacities, he works closely with private land developers to design and implement infrastructure for major industrial projects. With a talent for translating complex construction requirements into clear actionable plans, he ensures the seamless development of facilities and their supporting systems. His proficiency in managing the intricacies of large-scale projects has positioned him as a prominent figure in the field, particularly in the design and execution of manufacturing and data center infrastructure.

Prior to reaching his current roles at Kimley-Horn, Mr. Day began his tenure there as a civil engineer from 2013 to 2018. During this period, he honed his technical skills and developed a comprehensive understanding of project management within the civil engineering sector. His early experiences in building client relationships provided a foundation for his later achievements and set the stage for his advancement within the organization.

Throughout his career, Mr. Day has been deeply committed to mentoring and training emerging professionals in the civil engineering realm. He considers his most significant accomplishment to be guiding several individuals toward successful careers and supporting them as they obtained their professional registration. Taking great fulfillment in developing talent, he finds that fostering the growth of others is more rewarding than solving technical challenges alone.

Dedicated to the ideals of ongoing learning and industry engagement, Mr. Day is a member of 7x24 Exchange — a nonprofit organization focused on mission-critical facilities — and has previously been involved with the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is civically engaged as a supporter of the Rock Hill Worthy Boys and Girls Camp, which helps children develop crucial life skills such as first aid and swimming while building their self-confidence.

Before starting his journey at Kimley-Horn, Mr. Day pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2013. To augment his knowledge and qualifications, he became licensed as a professional engineer in 2017, further validating his expertise and commitment to upholding rigorous industry standards.

Along with his education, Mr. Day attributes his success to what he describes as ruthless consistency — maintaining self-awareness, adhering to his core beliefs and consistently delivering high-quality work to clients and colleagues alike. He is also grateful for key mentors such as Lawrence Shaw, a real estate broker whose guidance, knowledge and support significantly shaped Mr. Day's professional development.

Mr. Day's decision to pursue civil engineering was shaped by early influences from family members as well as his personal interests. Though he initially considered a career in the military or culinary arts, he ultimately chose civil engineering after reflecting on the practical considerations and drawing inspiration from his father's work as an electrical engineer in manufacturing. An early internship experience reinforced his preference for roles that involve collaboration with people and communities rather than working exclusively with machinery.

Looking toward the future with optimism, Mr. Day remains passionate about helping others achieve their potential within the civil engineering profession. He aspires to see continued growth in his practice through the development of people, aiming to foster an environment where future professionals can thrive — with the hope that some will even surpass his own achievements over time.
