POTOMAC, MD, October 16, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lawrence B. Ryan has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Since 1993, Mr. Ryan has served as the founder and president of Lawrence Ryan International (LRI). In this capacity, he has drawn upon over six decades of experience in aerospace, government service and consulting to guide the company's strategic direction and operations. As a highly reputable consulting firm, LRI offers representation in business development, strategic planning and government relations to both domestic and international entities within the advanced technology sector. Mr. Ryan continues to enhance his contribution by collaborating with a young innovator in the development of advanced equipment for the United States Army.
Prior to his tenure at LRI, Mr. Ryan held multiple positions within the United States Department of Commerce, including senior-level roles such as deputy assistant secretary for aerospace within the International Trade Administration and subsequently as deputy assistant secretary of commerce for the Technology and Aerospace Industries. His appointments aligned with the transitional period between presidential administrations, a phase that significantly influenced his professional development and ultimately guided him toward independent consulting. In these roles, Mr. Ryan collaborated closely with the business sector to formulate strategies aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the American aerospace and high-technology industries.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Ryan gained valuable industry experience at Textron, a prominent multi-industry corporation, where he served as the vice president of Washington operations for Bell Aerospace Textron. Similarly, he held the position of vice president of business development at the Bell Aerospace office located in Buffalo, New York. Likewise, he held numerous senior roles at LTV Aerospace and the Sperry Corporation and served in the United States Army as a commissioned officer in the XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery.
Mr. Ryan's dedication to professional development and industry engagement is demonstrated through his longstanding memberships and leadership positions within various organizations. He has served as the national secretary of the Airlift/Tanker Association, as a principal on the Council for Excellence in Government, and remains an active member of the Association of the United States Army. Moreover, he has sustained a long-standing affiliation with the National Capital chapter of the Air Force Association.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Ryan has demonstrated a profound commitment to civic engagement and community service. He is a founding member of Potomac Community Resources, a nonprofit organization that serves approximately 500 clients through various programs such as therapeutic care, music ensembles, yoga, aerobics, basketball, photography and art. The organization employs professional technicians and nurses to supervise activities that offer meaningful engagement for individuals with developmental disabilities. Furthermore, Mr. Ryan has served on the marketing committee of The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County and has been a trustee of the Western New York chapter of the Leukemia Society of America. He later served on the board of advisors of the Joseph P. Kennedy Institute in Washington, DC for over 20 years.
Mr. Ryan's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. He attributes much of his success to the steadfast support of his late wife, Gen, whom he referred to as his "bashert," or divinely chosen spouse. Her resilience and selflessness played a crucial role throughout their shared life. In acknowledgment of his accomplishments and service, Mr. Ryan was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award and the Monsignor Wilfred J. Nash Award for "Principles of Christian Conduct" by Gannon University in 2021.
