WEST CHESTER, PA, October 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gregory A. Obin has distinguished himself through a career that embodies precision, leadership, and adaptability across defense, government, and finance. A decorated veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Obin served from 2016 to 2022 as an Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer with the 211th Engineering and Installation Squadron and deployed to Iraq in 2019 in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve. His service included the design, deployment, and management of secure communications infrastructure in support of National Defense operations and presidential communications. Mr. Obin thrived in both domestic and international theaters, often under austere and high-pressure conditions, and became a Team Leader who was able to effortlessly navigate between multiple domains including electrical engineering, cybersecurity, satellite communications, rescue operations, and logistics.
Mr. Obin's technical command and composure under operational stress earned him multiple commendations, including recognition as Airman of the Year. His capability to translate complex technical realities into strategic recommendations led to Defense Contracting assignments here he oversaw the integration of advanced communications and infrastructure systems supporting U.S. operations in some of the nation's most remote and strategically significant regions. This experience broadened his understanding of multidisciplinary leadership as his duties included briefing senior defense, government, and Pentagon officials, responsibilities that deepened his expertise in systems leadership, mission execution, and multidisciplinary fields.
Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Obin brought his systems discipline to civic and enterprise environments, applying military-honed leadership to municipal government and sales roles. These experiences fortified his understanding of organizational design, decision-making, and customer service, forming the groundwork for his eventual entrance into the financial industry.
In 2024, Mr. Obin joined New York Life Insurance Company as a financial professional, later assuming the role of registered representative with NYLIFE Securities in 2025. In these capacities, he advises families, entrepreneurs, and private equity groups on wealth preservation, income distribution, and legacy continuity. His practice combines the structured logic of engineering with the judgment of a strategist, guiding clients through complex financial decisions with discretion, clarity, and foresight.
Mr. Obin continues to apply the same principles that defined his military service—discipline, integrity, and precision—to his mission of helping clients achieve enduring financial stability and multigenerational stewardship. His work stands as a testament to the seamless transfer of defense-born leadership into the realm of strategic finance and legacy architecture.
Mr. Obin's early life was shaped by the influence of his grandfather Andrew S. Obin, a pharmacist with the United States Navy who introduced him to books at an early age. By the age of six, reading had become a significant skill and hobby; likewise, writing in journals during his early years instilled habits of self-examination and lifelong learning that continue to guide his approach today. Later in his journey, he learned much about the fundamentals of leadership, strategy, legacy and personal growth from valued mentors such as Robert Vinci and Paige Harker.
Demonstrating his dedication to civic engagement and community service, Mr. Obin is involved with Ardmore Rock N' Ride, an annual fundraising event that supports local health care heroes and ambulance services, and is an active member of the Brandywine Valley Writers Group. He regularly attends meetings to learn from from playwrights, authors, journalists, and editors about effective communication with large audiences. Mr. Obin enjoys weekly private lessons with author and expert writing tutor, Sharon Esterly, and maintains an active lifestyle through hiking, backpacking and daily fitness routine. Determined to share his experience to support current and aspiring leaders, he is currently authoring a forthcoming book that explores how integrating military discipline with sports coaching strategies can forge decisive leadership models within corporate environments.
Looking ahead, Mr. Obin remains committed to disciplined growth through continuous education in finance, governance, and strategic leadership. Within and beyond his professional work, he pursues mastery across systems that preserve family wealth, institutional order, and generational continuity. His guiding aim is to translate knowledge into enduring structure, ensuring that legacies endure through intention, clarity, and design.
