MORRISON, CO, October 20, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lisa Best has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Marked by her commitment to fostering wellness, leadership and personal growth among her students, Ms. Best is a distinguished educator in holistic health, physical education and youth development. Since 2017, she has served as the physical education teacher at Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen, where she instructs students from kindergarten through eighth grade, reaching approximately 350 students each week.

Ms. Best's curriculum encompasses wellness, health, nutrition, fitness and both motor and gross motor skill proficiency. She integrates core virtues into her lessons, aligning with the school's monthly celebrations of these values. Recognized for her innovative approach to teaching, she engages students in games that help them manage their emotions and develop self-regulation skills while taking responsibility for their own health.

In her capacity as Rocky Mountain Academy's activities director since 2023, Ms. Best has expanded extracurricular opportunities for students by coaching middle school volleyball and basketball teams as well as founding and leading the Rockettes Dance Team. Passionate about fostering an equally safe and fun learning environment, she developed a dance curriculum highlighted by a "Thriller" flash mob performance during the school's annual Halloween celebration. Additionally, she oversees after-school sports classes and summer camps, hiring and training scorekeepers, coaches and referees while often serving as a referee herself.

Also serving as the school's wellness director, Ms. Best collaborates with staff and students known as the Wellness Warriors to organize four health initiatives each academic year. Despite limited resources, she founded a garden committee to support the school's garden program and has been pivotal in establishing after-school classes to fund equipment purchases. Her leadership extends to educating middle schoolers about regenerative farming practices through field trips and classroom instruction.

Though she continues to find creative ways to make a meaningful impact, Ms. Best considers her most notable achievement at Rocky Mountain Academy to be the creation and continual enhancement of the physical education curriculum. When she joined the school in 2017, there was no formal program in place; she took the initiative to design a comprehensive curriculum that has since evolved each year to better serve students' needs. She also launched the athletic program and dance team, laying the foundation for a robust extracurricular environment.

Ms. Best's professional journey began following her graduation from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and exercise science in 1999. For more than 15 years after earning a degree, she worked as a fitness trainer, wellness coach and nutritionist, building a reputation for expertise in personal training — a field in which she has accumulated nearly 25 years of experience. In 2013, she transitioned into education as a health educator in school settings, amassing over a decade of service in this sector.

Ms. Best's dedication to student well-being has been recognized beyond her immediate community; in January 2024, Evergreen Living magazine published a spotlight article detailing her teaching philosophy and coaching methods. Equally dedicated to helping students and families in the greatest need, she is affiliated with the Healthy School Meals for All program in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Best is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, biking, snowboarding and exploring new places. She is the proud mother of two children: Jaden, who is currently attending college, and Josiah, who will begin emergency medical technician school in 2026. Both are graduates of Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen.

Looking to the future with determination, Ms. Best intends to train other individuals to assume leadership roles within the various programs she has established at Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen. Her goal is to foster greater engagement across the school community by distributing responsibilities among more participants. Throughout every stage of her career, she has demonstrated unwavering passion for health, physical education and youth empowerment — qualities that have left an enduring impact on her students and colleagues alike.
