Before launching his consulting firm, Mr. Hauser retired from Tnemec Company Inc., where he held several key positions over a 22-year tenure from 2003 to 2025. As a Technical Service Representative from 2003 to 2005, Lab Manager from 2005 to 2025, he oversaw all training and technical services, conducted in-house testing, and performed failure analysis for a wide range of projects. From 2018 to 2025, he also served as Technical Service Project Manager, managing complex assignments and providing guidance on best practices in coatings application and maintenance. Between 2022 and 2025, Mr. Hauser was additionally appointed Senior Project Manager, further expanding his leadership responsibilities within the organization. His initial role at Tnemec was as technical services representative from 2003 to 2005.
Before joining Tnemec, Mr. Hauser owned Quality Painting from 1991 to 1999, where he gained hands-on experience as a contractor applying coatings and performing surface preparation across commercial and industrial projects. This foundational period allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of application techniques and industry standards.
Mr. Hauser's professional journey began with military service as a combat engineer in the United States Army from 1984 to 1992. During this time, he became an explosives expert responsible for locating and defusing land mines, as well as executing demolition tasks when necessary.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hauser has contributed to projects ranging from commercial to offshore oil rigs and industrial water tanks, demonstrating versatility across multiple industries. He is recognized for his ability to diagnose complex problems and deliver effective solutions, a skill set that continues to benefit clients nationwide.
His professional affiliations include membership on the advisory board of Material Performance Magazine, where he reviews submitted articles for accuracy and suitability before publication. He takes particular pride in this role due to his longstanding interest in corrosion prevention and materials performance. Mr. Hauser is also affiliated with the American Society for Testing and Materials.
Mr. Hauser's educational background includes a high school diploma with vocational coursework in carpentry and woodworking from Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. He holds a NACE-certified coating inspector credential as well as a 30-hour certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. These qualifications have underpinned his technical expertise throughout his career.
He attributes his success to being direct and perfectionistic, qualities that have propelled him forward in his professional life. He also credits early opportunities on significant projects for helping him build a strong reputation within the field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Hauser is civically engaged through his ongoing work with Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, which he has been involved with since 2016 as part of the We Honor Veterans Program. He builds urns and flag cases for veterans who lack the financial resources to purchase memorial items, reflecting his commitment to honoring those who have served.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Hauser enjoys designing and building furniture. This passion extends into creating custom pieces for family members' homes, as well as constructing urns and flag cases for veterans in need. He resides with his spouse, Peggy; together, they share a blended family, including two stepdaughters and one son.
Mr. Hauser remains dedicated to teaching and mentoring within the industry, driven by a desire to address workforce shortages caused by nationwide reductions in technical education programs.
