VILLA PARK, CA, October 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fatima Pazargadi has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mrs. Pazargadi has distinguished herself as a leading expert in French literature, language and culture throughout her extensive career in education. For more than a quarter century, she has served as a French teacher at Villa Park High School within the Orange Unified School District, beginning her tenure in 2001. In this role, Mrs. Pazargadi currently teaches French one through four and French Advanced Placement. She is recognized for her dynamic approach to language instruction and cultural immersion.
A hallmark of Mrs. Pazargadi's career at Villa Park High School is the vibrant French cultural program she leads, which offers university credits through a biliteracy seal of the State of California. In her program she incorporates lessons on French history, literature, and culture. Celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, the French Wedding, an annual event, draws participation from students, faculty and the broader community, including the mayor of Villa Park and local media outlets.
Under Mrs. Pazargadi's guidance, students deepen their understanding of French language and history and gain valuable life skills. Notably, many participants have earned university scholarships, including one student who received a scholarship to the engineering program at the University of California, Berkeley because of his leadership in the French program at Villa Park.
More examples Mrs. Pazargadi's integration of French cultural awareness can be seen in the many fieldtrips her students take to Southern California museums including the Getty, Huntington Library, LACMA, and the Norton Simon. Before the pandemic students participated in French Camp with 22 other high schools from the Orange and Los Angeles Counties. Four times Mrs. Pazargadi's French program has traveled to France, visiting Paris, Provence and Monaco, Normandie, Bretagne, and Pays de la Loire.
Respect and love for her students has helped foster an environment of trust and mutual respect. Her students know that they are safe and that they are loved. Her commitment to students extends beyond academic expectations.
She is affectionately known as "Madame" by students. Some students have maintained a close relationship with their former teacher, inviting her to family milestones and reaching out during times of both sorrow and celebration.
In addition to her current position, Mrs. Pazargadi served as an adjunct professor of French at Cypress College for 22 years, from 2000-2022. She has been invited to teach French night classes at Fullerton College, starting in the Spring of 2026. Mrs. Pazargadi's earlier teaching experience includes teaching at Long Beach City College in 1999-2001.
Mrs. Pazargadi's earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French literature and culture at the University of Melli in Tehran in 1978. Prior to that, she attended a prominent French Catholic School in Tehran, Ecole Jeanne d'Arc, for 12 years. In 1979, she married Dr. Shayan Pazargadi, who received his Doctorate in Philosophy in Structural Engineering from Stanford University.
After moving to America in 1979, she completed a Master of Arts degree in French language and literature from Notre Dame College—now University of Notre Dame de Namur—in 1987. This advanced study provided a strong foundation for her subsequent teaching roles and curriculum development efforts. She earned her State of California Clear Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate in 2005 (Credentialed 1999).
Mrs. Pazargadi's personal history is deeply influenced by her heritage as a member of the House of Moayyeri, a prominent Persian family with a legacy spanning seven centuries. Her Moayyeri ancestors served as heads of the Persian treasury and masters of the mint for over 450 years. The Moayyeri family's broad contributions include works collected by the Louvre Museum in Paris and the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. They have numerous published books that remain well-known today.
Family remains central to Mrs. Pazargadi's life. She is proud of her daughter, Dr. Leila Pazargadi, who received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Comparative Literature from UCLA. Dr Pazargadi is a tenured English professor at Navada State University, Henderson. She created a major program for first-time university students. The most cherished time for Mrs. Pazargadi is spending time with her granddaughter.
She is an active member of the French Teachers Association and FLA-OC, Forging Language Association of Orange County. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends & family. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Pazargadi plans to continue her work in education while embracing new opportunities.
