Mr. Carrizosa has established himself as an expert in syndications and commercial syndications, earning recognition for his leadership and technical acumen in the banking sector. Since 2022, he has served as the vice president and complex commercial syndication manager at SouthState Bank. In this capacity, he leads a team focused on commercial real estate, tax-free bonds, municipalities and Small Business Administration loans. His responsibilities also include franchise lending, supporting franchisees with funding for new locations, equipment acquisition and financing. Under Mr. Carrizosa's direction, the team is developing the administrative syndication platform for SouthState Bank.

One of the most notable accomplishments of Mr. Carrizosa's tenure has been his leadership in overseeing the request for proposal process and spearheading the rollout of AFS Vision, a sophisticated commercial loan syndication system. This project, now in its testing phase after two years of development, is designed to facilitate stakeholder engagement and support business growth. With SouthState Bank managing $60 billion in assets and pursuing expansion through mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Carrizosa's efforts are instrumental in positioning the bank to surpass $100 billion in assets and secure a place among the top 15 banks in the United States.

Prior to joining SouthState Bank, Mr. Carrizosa was the agent syndications loan operations manager at MUFG from 2020 to 2022. During this period, he led U.S. syndication efforts from Los Angeles, focusing on modernizing legacy systems by transitioning from AFS to ACBS. His leadership contributed to more efficient operations and improved client service.

From 2017 to 2020, Mr. Carrizosa worked as a syndicated lending operations consultant at Bank of America. He played a pivotal role in managing large corporate and middle-market syndications, including relationships with Fortune 500 companies such as Walgreens and Best Buy. Notably, he managed the sports portfolio, collaborating with organizations in the National Football League, Major League Baseball and National Hockey League. Mr. Carrizosa led a team of approximately 15 individuals and was responsible for all syndicated loan relationships of the 32 National Football League teams.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Carrizosa served as a futures and commodities analyst at Wells Fargo Securities from 2015 to 2016. In this role, he managed client futures and swaps transactions, oversaw collateral and FX movements and prepared daily reports for trading operations. From 2013 to 2015, he was a financial analyst and adviser at the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, where he conducted financial examinations, ensured compliance with state regulations and reviewed anti-money laundering programs.

Mr. Carrizosa began his professional journey at ESPN Radio Tallahassee from 2010 to 2013, serving as an account executive, chief backup operator, reporter and producer. He covered Florida State Seminoles games as a radio personality and statistician while exploring career options aligned with his academic background.

Throughout his career, Mr. Carrizosa has been recognized for building complex commercial systems across multiple banks by leveraging his deep understanding of products and processes. He is known as a people-oriented manager who values human capital as a bank's most significant asset. With eight to nine years of experience managing teams of up to 100 individuals, he has consistently received positive reviews for his mentorship and commitment to employee development.

Prior to commencing his professional journey, Mr. Carrizosa earned a Bachelor of Science in political science and government from Florida State University in Tallahassee in 2010. Beyond his education, he credits much of his success to mentors who have invested time in his professional development throughout his career. Joanna Huggins, his current supervisor at SouthState Bank, has been particularly influential by sharing her expertise in bank operations. Mr. Carrizosa also acknowledges exceptional leaders from MUFG and Bank of America who have shaped his approach to management and mentorship.

Known for his civic-mindedness, Mr. Carrizosa is dedicated to community service through volunteer work at soup kitchens and initiatives that support individuals experiencing homelessness. He actively mentors aspiring professionals seeking entry into the financial industry as well as recent graduates from Florida State University. Additionally, he dedicates time to supporting the Hispanic community.

Born to Colombian immigrants in the 1960s, Mr. Carrizosa is a first-generation Hispanic American who values family heritage and community. Dedicated to his work in finance, he continually seeks to expand his knowledge and expertise. He is also a mentor, supporting others both professionally and personally, and is committed to ensuring that everyone has a fair opportunity to pursue the American Dream, a principle shaped by his own family's immigrant experience.

Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Carrizosa enjoys spending quality time with his family and following Florida State Seminoles athletics, with a particular enthusiasm for football, while also keeping up with sports more broadly. He is an avid trombone player with a deep passion for music, embracing a wide range of genres, including classical, jazz, modern pop and hip-hop. Additionally, Mr. Carrizosa enjoys outdoor activities, including boating on lakes and rivers.
