HUNTINGTON WOODS, MI, October 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Lynne B. Master with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Lynne B. Master celebrates many years' experience in her professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Master is a distinguished figure in education, particularly known for her work with individuals who have special needs. As the owner and director of Learning Disabilities Clinic Inc. since 1967, she has dedicated her career to assisting children and adults with various impairments. Her clinic is renowned for being the only accredited education clinic in the country, offering specialized services through a team of professionals, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and certified special education teachers. Ms. Master collaborates with the State of Michigan, school districts, individual families, and welfare agencies to deliver compensatory education services and support welfare-to-work programs.
Ms. Master's career began as a corrective reading consultant for The School District of the City of Highland Park from 1960 to 1968. During this time, she was instrumental in training special education teachers and school psychologists in diagnosing and correcting learning disorders. Ms. Master also contracted with public and private schools to provide special education services and offered American College Test (ACT) preparation and classroom courses for English, language arts, and mathematics. Moreover, she worked with abused and neglected children from the Family Courts and Department of Human Services and referrals from the Office of Support Services for Students with Disabilities at colleges and universities. These pioneering efforts in this role laid the groundwork for Ms. Master's future endeavors in private practice.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Master holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education in clinical psychology. These educational experiences have been instrumental in shaping her approach to teaching and mentoring.
In addition to her primary roles at Learning Disabilities Clinic, Inc., Ms. Master has served as a certified quality assurance review chair since 2010 and as the director of the Learning Development Center since 2007. She has also been actively involved in numerous professional organizations throughout her career. She served as the past president of the Education Industry Association and is a member of several other associations, including the Learning Disabilities Association of Michigan and the Michigan Head Injury Providers Council. Ms. Master's leadership extends beyond education as a former vice chair of the American Civil Liberties Union of Oakland County and co-chair of the North American Association. At one time, she served on 25 boards. One of these boards was Greenacres Woodward Civic Association, which represented about 4,000 families. One of the projects she undertook with that organization involved an effort to discourage "white flight" within integrated communities. She collaborated with elementary school families to discourage migration to the suburbs.
Beyond her professional life, Ms. Master has been deeply involved in civic activities. Most notably, she served as the president of the board of governors for the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism and was a member of the board of directors for The Children's Center. Her commitment to community service is further exemplified by her past presidency at The Birmingham Temple.
Ms. Master's contributions have been recognized with several accolades, including a proclamation from the City of Oak Park, Michigan. Her clinic's accreditation, however, has been her most significant career achievement, reflecting her commitment to innovation and excellence in education. Ms. Master has done a great deal of public speaking through various media throughout the world, in Moscow, Russia; Brussels, Belgium; Paris, France; Tel-Aviv, Israel; Toronto, Canada; Beijing, China; and Mexico. She wrote a syndicated newspaper column, Today's Parent, which was published throughout the state of Michigan and the Carribean concerning parenting and education issues. She did this for 8 1/2 years.
Despite contemplating retirement, Ms. Master remains active due to ongoing demand for her expertise. She believes that her legacy is defined by her positive impact on others' lives, serving as a testament to her dedication as an educator and humanist.
