NICHOLASVILLE, KY, October 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steve Diver has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Diver has built a distinguished career over the last four decades in horticulture and sustainable agriculture. He currently serves as the farm superintendent of the Horticulture Research Farm in the University of Kentucky's Martin Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, a position he's held over the last 12 years. Widely recognized for his expertise in soil health, alternative farming methods, and trending topics such as biofertilizers, he is an invited lecturer at regional and national conferences.

He conducted the first biodynamic agriculture consultancies for USAID in Russia and India in 2002 and served on the NOSB Compost Tea Task Force in 2004. In recognition for his contributions, Mr. Diver was honored with the 2024 Eco-Ag Achievement Award. This award is given out annually by Acres U.S.A. magazine, the Voice of Eco-Agriculture, to pioneering leaders in the eco-farming industry.

Mr. Diver served nearly 20 years as an agriculture specialist with the National Center for Appropriate Technology, working on the ATTRA project in Northwest Arkansas. ATTRA, the National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service, provides technical advice and resources to farmers and extension agents in all 50 states on A-to-Z topics relating to sustainable agriculture, organic farming, alternative crop and livestock enterprises, IPM pest control, and alternative farming systems.

Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, Mr. Diver spent seven years as a soils consultant in Texas. He conducted soil assessments and revegetation specifications for flood control detention basins for Harris County Flood Control District. He developed soil amendment specifications for the landscape architecture team that designed and built the prairie landscape at the GW Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, Texas.

Earlier in his career, from 1984 to 1988, he was the Extension Horticulture Agent in Muskogee County, Oklahoma with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. This included a split assignment as the Agriculture Agent in McIntosh County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with bachelors and masters degrees in horticulture.

In addition to managing a busy university research farm, Mr. Diver enjoys gardening, music, and taking walks with his wife. After retirement, he plans to write books, teach workshops, and get back into farm consultancy on a part-time basis but, more importantly, enjoy spending time with his wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
