This role allowed him to manage a public defense docket while also running his private practice. Within three weeks of opening his firm, he began working as a contract public defender, gaining invaluable experience in representing clients and trying cases. During this period, he completed more than 40 felony jury trials to verdict — a remarkable achievement for an attorney who had never served as a prosecutor. His early exposure to courtroom proceedings and mentorship from judges and colleagues played a crucial role in shaping his legal acumen.

Beyond his civilian practice, Mr. Ambeau was part of the Trial Defense Service at the 22nd Legal Support Organization in the United States Army Reserve from 2001 to 2015. His exemplary service, including a deployment in 2004-2005 to the combat theater in Iraq, is among his proudest achievements in his personal or professional life.

Mr. Ambeau's storied legal journey began at Dugas, LeBlanc & Mire in 2009, working with his uncle and mentor, Ret. Judge Pegram Mire, where he worked in criminal defense litigation for six months before pivoting to establish his own firm. Drawing on a strong family connection to Louisiana, he received early opportunities that helped him gain valuable experience and mentorship.

Before entering the legal realm, Mr. Ambeau spent 15 years in the restaurant business. This proved to be a formative experience that instilled in him a deep appreciation for service and caring for others, which later influenced his approach to practicing law.

Hailing from an equally impressive academic background, Mr. Ambeau earned a Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law Center in 2008 and a master's degree in forensic DNA and blood serology from the University of Florida in 2020. To augment his knowledge and education in the forensic sciences, he has attended the National Forensic College at Cardozo Law School in New York City in 2016, 2018 and 2022.

Mr. Ambeau's professional accomplishments, trial experience, and specialty in forensic science disciplines have led to his feature in national education programs, as well as the acclaimed 2022 Netflix documentary "I Just Killed My Dad," which highlights his expertise and visibility in high-profile cases.
