A seventeen-year veteran of the company, he plays a pivotal role in advancing the branded content discipline across the industry with best-in-class campaigns that have generated billions of impressions. He oversees multiplatform campaigns and custom branded content for advertisers across all A+E Global Media platforms. Mr. DeSocio's expertise in advertising, sales, marketing, and branded content has positioned him as a leading figure in the field, with contributions and experience spanning strategy, buying, selling, and production. He has developed and produced award-winning campaigns utilizing short and long-form programming, social platforms, and brand integrations. Notable client campaigns he has created and executive produced include those for Ford, Chili's, GSK, P&G, Campbell's, Ancestry, and more.
From 2001 to 2008, Mr. DeSocio served as Chief Strategy Officer at OMD, overseeing business development, where he focused on driving growth through innovative media strategies and client engagement. His work at OMD further solidified his reputation for delivering results-driven solutions in a rapidly changing media landscape.
Earlier in his career, Mr. DeSocio spent seven years with AOL Time Warner, beginning in the early 1990s. During this period, he led one of the first teams to pioneer partnerships and storytelling concepts that helped shape the direction of modern media sales.
Mr. DeSocio began his career at advertising agencies J. Walter Thompson and Deutsch. As Director of Consumer Behavior at JWT and an Account Planner at Deutsch, he delved into research and consumer psychology, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors in media and advertising. These roles were the cornerstone of his approach to connecting brands with audiences and influencing consumers through compelling narratives. He attributes much of his success to the strong mentors who guided him over the years; their influence now inspires him to mentor others by teaching classes and contributing to industry publications.
Throughout his career, Mr. DeSocio has been recognized for his commitment to developing emerging talent, championing underrepresented voices and ensuring that inclusive stories are told about people, brands and causes that matter. He was honored with the Talent Champion Award from the Association of National Advertisers Educational Foundation for his efforts to encourage youth to pursue careers in media. His work has been recognized with Clio and Promax (Global Entertainment Marketing Academy) awards. He was also featured on the CableFax Diversity list in 2023 and was a contributing editor to The Holy Grail of Marketing, published in June of this year.
Mr. DeSocio is also a voting member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, reflecting his ongoing engagement with industry standards and excellence.
His academic background includes a Master's Degree from Columbia University in New York City and a Bachelor's Degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is an alumnus of The Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey, a boarding school where he has served as class secretary for nearly a decade.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. DeSocio is actively involved with civic organizations, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. He serves on the corporate sponsorship board of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and actively supports organizations such as SAGE, Concern Worldwide, and DoTheWeRQ. At A+E Global Media, he is an active member of several Employee Resource Groups, including PRIDE and PrimeTimers. Mr. DeSocio was born in Long Branch and raised in Bay Head, New Jersey. He enjoys theater, travel, and is an avid reader. He lives with his partner in New York City, Connecticut, and Miami.
