KitchenCrest Cabinets now operates in four states — Illinois, Texas, Florida, and Wisconsin — with five locations in Chicago, San Antonio, Orlando, Miami and Wisconsin, employing 60 people. The business specializes in B2B cabinet wholesale, sourcing products from Southeast Asia and building a recognizable brand that supports small businesses across multiple regions.

In 2021, Ms. Ma served as chief financial officer at Buildout, Inc., where she managed financial operations and contributed to the company's strategic direction during her tenure. From 2020 to 2021, she served as chief financial officer in residence at The Riverside Company, a mid-market private equity firm. There, she collaborated with several portfolio companies on economic strategy and operational improvements.

From 2015 to 2020, Ms. Ma served as director of private equity performance improvement at Alvarez & Marsal. She provided consulting services focused on enhancing the value of portfolio companies through operational efficiencies and financial restructuring. Her work at Alvarez & Marsal built upon her earlier experience as director of portfolio management at Origo Partners Plc from 2011 to 2015. At Origo Partners Plc, she managed investments through a United States dollar fund in China after the firm raised capital from the London Alternative Investment Market.

Ms. Ma's earlier career includes serving as vice president of finance at Availink, Inc. and as chief financial officer at Asian American Coal, Inc. Her most notable achievement occurred in 2008 when she played a pivotal role in helping a company backed by United States private equity firms including First Reserve exiting an investment in China valued at over $500 million. This transaction enabled the investors to exit their investment just before the global financial crisis, generating significant returns for shareholders and stakeholders. This milestone stands out in her professional journey.

Her corporate finance foundation was established through roles in corporate finance working for large-cap Fortune 500 companies including ConAgra Foods, RR Donnelley Owens Corning, and Procter and Gamble. These experiences taught her "what good looks like", setting the stage for her later success in private equity, consulting and entrepreneurial ventures.

Ms. Ma's academic background includes executive education through the General Management Program at Harvard Business School in Boston in 2009. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo in Ohio, in 2000, following completion of a Master of Arts in economics at the same institution in 1998. Her commitment to professional development is further demonstrated by certifications in areas such as communicating with diplomacy and tact, having difficult conversations, executive presence for women, and negotiating your leadership success.

Throughout her career, Ms. Ma has attributed her achievements to her resilience and determination in the face of challenges.
