With more than three decades of experience in the engineering and turbomachinery industries, Mr. Tran has built a reputation for technical excellence, strategic leadership, and global impact. He currently serves as Head of Turbomachinery Sales for the Americas at Oerlikon Metco, a billion-dollar enterprise recognized for its advanced surface engineering technologies. In this role, Mr. Tran oversees sales operations across North and South America, driving business growth for Laser Cladding, Laser Hardening, and Turnkey Machining applications on rotating equipment, including pumps, turbines, and compressors. His work integrates strategic planning, operational leadership, and partnership development across a highly competitive international market.

Prior to joining Oerlikon Metco, Mr. Tran held several key positions that strengthened his global business acumen. From 2015 to 2016, he served as Regional Sales Account Manager for Asia Pacific at Hydro Inc., managing major accounts and developing targeted growth strategies across Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and other parts of the world. Between 2011 and 2015, he was Sales and Business Development Manager for the Middle East and Eastern Hemisphere at Best PumpWorks, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a new pump division in Dubai, significantly expanding the company's international footprint.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Tran served as Sales Engineer at Houma Armature Works & Supply (2010–2011) and Senior Application Engineer at ITT/Goulds Pumps in Houston (2006–2009). From 2005 to 2006, he was President of Sales and Vice Managing Director at DanDong Colossus Group Company Ltd. in China, successfully managing a multimillion-dollar pump and mechanical seal operation. His professional journey began in 1993 with Intervac Corporation, where he served as Engineering Manager and Application Engineer, laying the foundation for his distinguished global career.

Mr. Tran earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1992, following his graduation from Jefferson High School in Rochester, New York, in 1985.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Tran is a passionate advocate for community service and humanitarian outreach. He volunteers as a hospital interpreter, providing vital language support to patients and families navigating complex medical systems—demonstrating his deep commitment to compassion, inclusion, and public service.

Mr. Tran's life story is also one of resilience and perseverance. After leaving an affluent life in Vietnam, he arrived in the United States in 1979 as a refugee with limited means. Through hard work, education, and determination, he built a career that has spanned four continents.
