Born in Agra, India, he worked as a manager on tea plantations in Darjeeling and West Bengal, and came to the United States in 1975. He quickly adapted to new opportunities, initially focusing on the clothing industry before transitioning into real estate investment in Florida and Massachusetts. He is known for his aversion to retirement, viewing continued activity and involvement as essential to a fulfilling life.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Bahal is deeply involved in civic activities. He volunteers at a local food pantry, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to supporting those in need within his community. His contributions have been recognized with an award from the State Senator of Massachusetts.

Mr. Bahal's personal life is marked by a profound sense of gratitude and satisfaction. He takes great pride in having traveled to every country in the world—a feat that culminated with his participation as one of six individuals on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin NS-34 mission on August 3, 2025. This historic journey made him the first Sikh globally to travel to space and the 716th person worldwide to do so. Additionally, he is only the second individual ever to have visited every country and also ventured into space. His passion for exploration extends across all seven continents; he has skydived over Mount Everest and the Pyramids of Giza and published a coffee table book titled "Tireless Traveler," a chronicle of these adventures.
