CORVALLIS, OR, November 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Davis has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Davis currently serves as a plastics sourcing engineer at HP in Corvallis, Oregon, a position he has held since 2017. In this capacity, he communicates design changes between engineering teams and suppliers, addresses quality control issues, oversees supplier development and ensures that both quality and cost requirements are met. He is also responsible for auditing processes to maintain high standards across the global supply chain. Mr. Davis values the company's long tenure as an industry leader of electromechanical design expertise, and has been impressed by the opportunities to continue to learn on -the-job and expand his resources and knowledge base in the broad field of mechanical engineering.

In his current role, Mr. Davis relies on experience gained from 2016 to 2017 as a plastics sourcing engineer at HP in Vancouver, Washington. His responsibilities mirrored those of his current role, with a focus on supplier communication, quality assurance and process improvement within the plastics sourcing division. Before joining HP, he excelled as an NPI project engineer at Elite Plastics, a division of GM Nameplate, from 2014 to 2016. There, Mr. Davis began his career in injection molding at a facility serving clients such as HP, Toyota, Boeing and various medical companies, building and validating tooling for product introductions and supporting manufacturing processes through defect identification and resolution.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Davis thrived as a teaching assistant at Western Washington University in 2013 and as a fitness instructor at the same institution from 2012 to 2013. He also completed a summer internship with Zodiac Aerospace in 2013, where he further developed his technical skills within the aerospace sector. Additional roles that further define Mr. Davis's profile include working as a cook's helper for ARAMARK from 2011 to 2012, a painter for College Pro in 2010 and a baker at Brazing Bagels from 2008 to 2010.

Among Mr. Davis's most notable achievements in plastic injection molding part design is his role in leading a project to develop and integrate a cost-effective inspection method for a new product design at HP. Collaborating with subject matter experts and global partners, Mr. Davis helped create a system that met inspection standards while enabling scrap mapping to identify and reject defective products, and the initiative became a standard operating process across remote suppliers and high-volume manufacturing sites. Notably, Mr. Davis has also secured several patents related to his work in plastics engineering, with additional patents pending approval.

Mr. Davis attributes his success to having a strong support network and finding confidence in open communication even when uncertain. He also credits perseverance in the face of personal challenges that include a childhood diagnosis of stage three neuroblastoma, which required surgery to remove tumors and resulted in temporary paralysis, and his parents' persistence in managing his chemotherapy. Since then, Mr. Davis's recovery has been marked by positive outcomes. Never phases through any physical limitations as a result of complications from his early diagnosis, Mr. Davis has enjoyed a life full of sports, including soccer, baseball, wrestling, rowing, CrossFit, and mountain biking. In 2022, Mr. Davis qualified for the CrossFit Games Semi Finals in the Adaptive Division securing several top 10 finishes.

A passion for continuous learning drove Mr. Davis to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Plastics and Polymer Engineering Technology with an emphasis on material science from Western Washington University in 2013. He also maintains a robust industry network through active membership in organizations that include the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering and the Society of Plastics Engineers, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development. Additionally, Mr. Davis remains dedicated to mentoring both within his workplace and his community, partnering with colleagues at HP and sharing his passion for mountain biking by guiding neighborhood youth interested in the sport.

To achieve balance, Mr. Davis enjoys staying active through biking, spending time with friends, cooking and undertaking home projects. Looking toward the future, he will further develop his skill set and explore opportunities beyond his current niche role. Additionally, Mr. Davis will explore options to move into a management position where he can lead teams while continuing to embrace new challenges as they arise.
