He also spent three years as a controller at Rogers Remodeling LLC — a construction firm that specializes in new projects, deck extensions and room additions — where he directed financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls.

From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Buhr was Vice President of Commercial Lending at The Peoples State Bank in Bloomington, Indiana. During his tenure of over two decades, he honed his skills in credit analysis, risk assessment and underwriting, laying a strong foundation for his later achievements in commercial lending and business consulting.

Recognized as an expert in business development — a distinction earned through years of dedicated service and continuous professional growth — Mr. Buhr is an active member of Networking Today International, Business Network International and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, reflecting his ongoing commitment to networking and community engagement.

Throughout his life and career, Mr. Buhr has demonstrated exceptional determination and resilience. One of his most notable achievements is his decision to return to graduate school as an adult while maintaining a full-time job and raising his three young children. He completed a Master of Business Administration in Finance at Butler University in 2002, accomplishing this in just over two years despite significant personal and professional challenges.

Mr. Buhr's academic background also includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University Indianapolis, completed in 1991.
