PACE, FL, November 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicole Hughes has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Nicole Hughes has spent more than 27 years shaping how organizations attract, develop, and retain talent across technical and energy industries spanning three continents. As Senior Director of Workforce Solutions at Thomas Thor, she leads strategic initiatives that bridge knowledge gaps, strengthen internal cultures, and build the nuclear-energy workforce of the future.

Since joining Thomas Thor in 2018, Ms. Hughes has been an integral part of the company's North American expansion, collaborating with colleagues and industry partners to align workforce programs with the evolving needs of the clean-energy transition. Her approach blends strategic workforce planning with a deep understanding of human behavior and industry dynamics.

In her role within U.S. Women in Nuclear (U.S. WIN), Ms. Hughes has played a key part in advancing frameworks for knowledge transfer, leadership development, and cross-generational mentorship - initiatives that not only sustain organizations but also nurture purpose and belonging within them.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Hughes contributed to the build-up and development of the workforce that brought the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant online in the United Arab Emirates - the nation's first nuclear facility and one that now supplies more than a quarter of its electricity. She was also part of the teams supporting Vogtle Units 3 and 4 in Georgia, the first new commercial reactors built in the United States in more than three decades. Through both international and domestic efforts, she has helped turn ambitious energy goals into sustainable realities powered by skilled people.

A native of Bavaria, Germany, Ms. Hughes began working at sixteen while completing a dual-vocational degree in Industrial Business Management, later earning certification as a Business Manager through the German Chamber of Commerce. Initially aspiring to become an engineer, Ms. Hughes faced limited opportunities growing up in a small rural community, where educational pathways for girls in STEM were not widely supported. Unable to pursue engineering within that system, she redirected her path toward business management - a decision that ultimately positioned her to bridge technical industries with workforce and talent strategy. Her experiences as a military spouse and expatriate further broadened her perspective on global workforce challenges, reinforcing her belief that adaptability and empathy are the foundations of effective leadership.

Beyond her corporate work, Ms. Hughes is the founder of Hidden Oaks Homestead LLC, a small family farm where she teaches traditional skills such as gardening, canning, and bread baking. The homestead reflects her conviction that sustainability begins at home through education, stewardship, and connection to the land. She also volunteers as a Master Gardener with the University of Florida IFAS, sharing her knowledge of sustainable agriculture with local communities.

Within the nuclear industry, Ms. Hughes serves as Chair of the Professional Development Committee for U.S. Women in Nuclear, sits on the Scholarship Committee for the American Nuclear Society, and acts as an Ambassador for the National 4-H Council - each role underscoring her commitment to mentorship, inclusion, and youth engagement.

At home, Ms. Hughes and her family manage their farm alongside a lively household that includes children active in academics, sports, and community programs. She credits her success to building authentic relationships and surrounding herself with mentors and peers who serve as a personal "board of directors."

Looking ahead, Ms. Hughes continues to champion workforce development as both a business imperative and a human mission. Through her leadership, she aims to inspire future generations to see themselves as essential contributors to the clean-energy transformation - demonstrating that when knowledge, purpose, and people connect, industries thrive.

Ms. Hughes's distinguished career reflects not only technical expertise but also unwavering dedication to mentorship community service sustainability education, all hallmarks of an accomplished leader recognized by Marquis Who's Who for outstanding contributions across multiple domains.
