Mrs. Espinosa currently serves as an English teacher at Callaway Public Schools in Nebraska. In this capacity since 2023, she is responsible for preparing the classroom and instructional materials, overseeing comprehensive lesson plans, and conducting "Bear Down" time with students to foster academic and personal growth. Her teaching responsibilities span senior English, where she guides students through resume writing and scholarship applications, as well as facilitating novel studies. She also instructs speech classes for freshmen, focusing on developing public speaking skills, and teaches junior English with an emphasis on writing proficiency and research paper preparation. Her oversight of yearbook projects and end-of-day wrap-up activities further demonstrates her commitment to student engagement and community building.
A hallmark of Mrs. Espinosa's career is the strong relationships she has cultivated with her students. Many have felt comfortable confiding in her about personal matters, which has enabled her to better understand their individual learning styles and needs. This mutual trust has fostered a supportive environment where students feel empowered to seek extra help when necessary. These meaningful connections have not only enhanced her effectiveness as an educator but have also contributed significantly to her professional growth.
Prior to her current role in education, Mrs. Espinosa gained valuable experience in theater management. She served as a stage manager and assistant stage manager at Post Playhouse in Crawford, Nebraska, where she was responsible for maintaining effective schedules and meeting production deadlines – skills that have become hallmarks of her professional expertise. Her ability to coordinate complex logistics and ensure the timely execution of tasks was further honed during her tenure as a stage manager and assistant stage manager at Theatre West in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. These roles provided a foundation in organization, collaboration and leadership that seamlessly translated into her subsequent work in education.
Mrs. Espinosa's academic background includes a master's degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University, earned in 2025, and a bachelor's degree in theater from Chadron State College, earned in 2020. The discipline and perseverance required throughout her scholarly journey were shaped by the guidance of her college mentor, whose encouragement during challenging times instilled in her the importance of resilience.
Mrs. Espinosa's transition from theater management to education was driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in students' lives while leveraging her organizational strengths and passion for relationship-building. The skills acquired through both academic study and practical experience have enabled Ms. Espinosa to excel in maintaining effective schedules and consistently meeting deadlines, qualities that are highly regarded within both the performing arts and education industries.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Mrs. Espinosa was born in Aurora, Nebraska, and enjoys painting, reading, listening to audiobooks, writing and spending quality time with her husband, James, in her leisure time. Her husband's steadfast support has also been instrumental in helping her achieve personal and professional milestones. Looking ahead, Mrs. Espinosa intends to pursue additional graduate studies with a focus on English, writing and curriculum development.
