PLEASANT HILL, CA, November 06, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Terry Guido with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Guido celebrates many years' experience in her professional network and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on over 20 years of professional excellence, Ms. Guido is recognized in the field of pathology, particularly in preclinical research and development on Alzheimer's disease. She spent significant time in the anatomy and pathology laboratory, gained expertise in immunotherapy and was honored multiple times for her dedication and career longevity. Notably, her time in pathology was reinforced by her dual tenures at both Elan Pharmaceuticals and Janssen Alzheimer's Immunotherapy Research and Development.
Ms. Guido began her career in 1992 as a research assistant at Athena Neurosciences, where she worked for four years before joining Elan Pharmaceuticals in 1996. She continued as a research associate from 1996 to 1999 and was promoted to a staff research associate, a position she held until 2004. From 2004 to 2006, she served as a senior research associate, and in 2006, she progressed to become an associate manager. She advanced further by serving as the manager of anatomy and pathology from 2011 to 2012. Concurrently, Ms. Guido also served as an associate manager at Janssen Alzheimer's Immunotherapy Research and Development from 2009 to 2012.
While working at Elan Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Guido's contributions to Alzheimer's disease research proved invaluable and were crucial in establishing the foundation for initial treatment stages and the development of the first vaccine for Alzheimer's disease. Among her many contributions, she also helped develop multiplex immunofluorescent staining methods in a transgenic mouse model with Alzheimers-like pathology. Additionally, she determined the timing of treatment-related amyloid clearance, microhemorrhages, and the recovery of smooth muscle and elastic layers during the acute phases of vascular amyloid clearance.
Highly educated, Ms. Guido earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Avian Sciences from the University of California Davis. Beyond her education, she is a member of Sigma Xi and has shown a strong commitment to civic engagement through volunteer work with organizations like the Walnut Creek UMC Extended Families Program. She attributes much of her success to her relentless curiosity and desire to understand the underlying mechanisms within biological systems.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Guido received several accolades, including the Award of Excellence from Elan Pharmaceuticals in 2003 and 2004 and an Encore Award from Janssen in 2012. Looking toward the future, she endeavors to continue supporting middle school science students by providing laboratory equipment and supplies to under-resourced and marginalized communities. Additionally, she is writing a book about Alzheimer's Disease, which she plans to self-publish to solidify her legacy in the field.
