Before focusing on her expanding dual executive roles, Dr. Lawrence excelled as the Shenandoah Valley lead director at Orion Strategies. During this time, she was pivotal in developing and executing public affairs campaigns.

Lawrence's tenure at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy included her role as vice president of membership and development. From 2016 to 2018, she advanced fundraising initiatives and strengthened key philanthropic partnerships throughout the outdoor industry, supporting the organization's mission of conservation and community engagement.

Lawrence began her public service career as a state delegate in the West Virginia Legislature from 2008 to 2014. Among her most significant legislative achievements was serving as the Chairman of the Committee on Political Subdivisions where she advanced legislation for many municipalities and counties.

Dr. Lawrence's equally robust academic background has been foundational to her success. She earned a Doctor of Executive Leadership with honors from the University of Charleston in 2019, an accomplishment that deepened her expertise in organizational strategy and leadership. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from Shenandoah University, completed in 2006, as well as a Bachelor of Science in business administration and political science from Shepherd University, awarded in 2004.

Along with her education, Dr. Lawrence attributes much of her success to her ability to build relationships, which she considers her superpower. She prioritizes understanding her clients' goals and aligning tailored strategies with their vision, often referencing the principle of "beginning with the end in mind." Her approach combines creativity and strategic thinking, especially when working within budget constraints — whether with large companies or small nonprofits. Dr. Lawrence's professional achievements have seen her recognized through several accolades, including the Woman of Distinction award in 2023 by Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capitol and being named a West Virginia Young Gun byWest Virginia Executive Magazine in 2021. Earlier in her career, she received the West Virginia Wonder Woman Award from West Virginia Living Magazine.

Alongside her vocational endeavors, civic engagement and nonprofit involvement are central parts of Dr. Lawrence's life. She currently serves as a member of the board of directors for the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, contributing to statewide economic initiatives and proudly serves a Chairman of the Board of the Miss West Virginia Organization.
